"Sex sells" that the slogan with most directors now..... which might be true

The highest grossing movies amounting more than $1Billion according to Box office hardly get any sex scenes. more work is done on the story and production....

So it a choice stay away from low budget movies with unnecessary sex scenes and watch movies that you would learn to think and learn from

Dirty minds will always churn out dirty imaginations. I've watched wrestlings, boxings, UFC, kissing scenes in movies, crime scenes, magic scenes, etc for years, right from childhood till date, but none of these things have influenced my decisions till date. The writer thinks that entertainment is doing us harm when it really isn't. It is part of life as a human. We all know by commonsense that what we are watching is scripted, so we don't stupidly act them out. Except maybe little kids, and that's why we have the 'PGs' and instructions before watching any movie.

As regards calling people into ministry or not. Here in Nigeria we already have bunches of criminals in the name pastors who said that they are called to ministry. They can all speak in tongues but none of them can cure Corona Virus. We don't really need more people in the ministry. What we need is more people to speak out against religious scandals and scams. Also people are needed to voice out their minds against our 'thiefing' politicians. We should stop carrying foreign religion upon our heads to hawk as if we knew anything about their religions and gods prior to the time they colonised our grandparents and ancestors and imposed their religion on us.

This is my 2kobo. cool

I don't agree with you, some of these movies have spiritual undertone.

Pastors don't cure sickness Jesus do. The bible is against any appearance of evil and that include watching movies containing sexual contents. Yes you may not fall for the tricks however many do fall for it. It would be hypocrital to watch and applaud movies with sexual contents yet condemn big brother Nigeria.

While your topic is great, but there are so many problems in Nigeria and Africa to focus on right now and not this. I do not understand why Nigerians think that they have the right to teach adults how to act and think sexually. Yes, there is is a God that wants all humans to remain decent, but this is a free world and people's right to do whatever they please, including having consenting sex is welcomed! So far as they are not hurting anyone they are good. Speak against injustices and lack of fairness and equity mated to your Nigerians by your government on a daily basis. Write about child molestation and rape, child labor, lack of trust and wickedness among Nigerians. There are so many issues going on in your country but not sexual immorality. Donald Trump is talking about AMERICA hanging AMERICAN flag on mars in two years, while Nigeria is backwardly, still talking about electricity, adequate clean water supply, healthcare, quality education and good road, and you are here talking about sexual immorality. Please I de vex for Nigeria's situation, and please no make me hug transformer.

You are welcome!

A Muslim here but every single thing you wrote up there is very right. Everything is nudity now, music videos, adverts, even kids dress sultry these days.

Check out the Netflix movie trailer "Cuties" , they made the parents of this little girl a villain because they advised her against twerking and dancing.

may God safeguard our children, I'm really scared.

Getting rid of sexual sin is almost impossible... Even if you don't watch movies, you see half nude girls everywhere around festac parading themselves.. Causing mayhams in the heart of men... Corruption started a long time ago.. That's the main reason why prostitution is the oldest profession in the world....

The people you're quoting are turning traditional and Christian, after seeing the results of too much liberalism.

All those problems you highlighted are a consequence of what this post is trying to convey.

We know already that God's Will is that all sexual pleasure should be shared between a married man and his wife inside the safe circle of their marriage institution alone, and that anything contrary is a sin that will fetch harmful repercussions (including premarital sex, extramarital sex, masturbation, pornography, homosexuality, etc).

Temptation is defined not only as "something attractive or seductive", but also as "pressure applied to your thinking designed to create wrong emotions which will eventually lead to wrong actions". Hence, sexual temptations are entities (persons, things, places, platforms, initiatives, etc) meant to entice you into committing sexual sins.

A temptation is meant to make you do something you already know is wrong. Sexual temptations are traps put in place by the devil and his agents, with the aim of making people become immoral. The aim is to make people dirty and separated from God their Creator, so he (the devil) will have the chance to steal from them, get them killed, and then destroy them.

Today, there are lots of Agents of Sexual Temptation out there (people, things, places, platforms, initiatives, etc that the devil is utilising to lure people into immorality). But in this short article, I want you to realise that the kingdom of darkness has colonised a large part of the territory of the world's movie industry.

It is necessary to know that the devil is always working on how he can pervert good intentions and inventions, as well as getting them channeled towards populating hell. Hence, while the inventors of the movie industry might have noble motives in the first place, it is unfortunate to note that the kingdom of darkness have invaded the industry and have been utilising it to corrupt millions of people in different parts of the world.

A lot of players and stakeholders in Hollywood, Nollywood, and several others, are doing the biddings of the devil - directly or indirectly, and only a few in the movie industry haven't bowed to the glistering offers of the devil. The hands of many of them have been sorely soiled with impurity.

Today, it is a common sight to see movies that promote indecency and tries to paint immorality in a positive light. Movies with tons of nude and semi nude scenes are all over the place. Unknown to many, these things keeps depositing lust in the hearts of the millions of viewers (including children). The lusts keeps growing in different degrees and forms, and you start seeing people practising what they saw in the movies. Where do you think kids of today are learning their erotic actions and dances from?

When you watch a lot of movies out there, it is difficult to restrain immoral thoughts and urges. These things corrupts people; they are toxic to our inner man; and cause separation between us and God.

What then should be done?

You have the liberty to watch any kind of movie you want. But if you want to be serious with God and want Him to use you for great exploits, then you can't go on watching just anything released in the already corrupted movie industry. There are some types of movies you shouldn't bother going for, as they will influence you negatively, or deposit debris of immorality into your subconsciousness.

We thank God for the rising of the Christian movie industry today. Personally, I'm always pleased with the Mount Zion Ministry (Evangelist Mike Bamiloye and his beautiful family - both immediate and extended). The Christian movie industry is now producing tons of superb movies that will entertain you (you will laugh and enjoy yourself), enlighten you (get you educated on important things you should know in today's world), then, most importantly, edify your spirit and encourage you to seek God the more (which help you grow spiritually).

So, rather than watching (and exposing your children to) movies that invade the mind with darkness, you should give more attention to the Christian movie industry.

Meanwhile, both are destroying lives.
