2,750 tons of ammonium nitrate stored within the burning warehouse exploded shortly after the images and footage were taken, leaving behind little more than a watery hole in the ground

The blast sent out a shockwave that pulverized nearby warehouses (pictured), shredded the interior of nearby buildings, and blew out glass panes across the city up to 9km away.

One thing I particularly learned from the mishap was the stability of their structures.

There were some high-rise buildings close to the blast, yet they stood firm.
It only takes one rainfall to wash off a story building here

So sad. Their bodies must have been blown in bits due to the impact of the explosion. Very unwise putting such explosive content together in large quantity.

Welcome back Explorers, you no longer have time like before. Time is everything. You've played your part making NL FP worth visiting and your position in the NL Hall of Fame is no shaking.
Your loyal students, Macsjebs and the rest are doing well.

Explorers:

The ten firefighters who were first on the scene. All of them are missing, with one, Sahar Fares, top centre, confirmed dead.
They were lucky to find one dead. Others would have been shattered into pebbles and dust.
It takes more than bravery to make a move to put out fire, in an Ammonium Nitrate warehouse. It is safer to go into the dem of hungry lions than venture into a burning warehouse where NH₄NO₃ is stored.

Having witnessed blasts from this explosive many times, it only takes few kg to send resounding quakes over kilometers.

R.I.P to them. In a jiffy, their hearts would have exploded in fear before their bodies got shattered. They exploded at point-blank. The sound of the blast alone is enough to shatter the body in pieces.

Officialgarri:

Yea. That's solid Structural Engineering.
And yet, those structures are not pure steel Sky scrappers, they're reinforced concrete structures.
In any part of the world where standard construction regulations and guidelines are followed to the letter, nothing less than this should be obtainable. That's why professionals have the opinion that 9/11 was an inside job, and explosives were already mounted inside the building, that aided the hit.

It would be interesting to know that ordinary block in some countries have more strength than concrete used in Nigeria.
I still remember Combustion movie, the scene where the bad guy wanted to hit Navas with Craw bar on his hand, he placed the hand on a block, when the Craw bar hit the block, it sparked and the block sounded like a metal. To show how strong the block is.
Nigeria is just a ridiculous parody of the real life out there.
