WASSCE: Osun Begs Former N-power Teachers To Resume by Amotolongbo(f): 1:21pm On Aug 10, 2020
Osun State Government on Monday pleaded with former N-Power teachers handling Senior Secondary School Three classes before they were exited from the scheme, to return to schools for revision classes.

This was contained in a public service announcement signed by the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Special Intervention Programmes, Lukman Bello, on Monday.

The State’s Commissioner for Education, Mr Folorunsho Bamisayemi, in the announcement, urged the volunteers to sacrifice for the future of the students that are preparing for the West African Senior School Certificate Examination.

The announcement read in part, “Sequel to an appeal to all N-Power teachers who were directly teaching SS3 classes in Osun Public High Schools by the Commissioner for Education, Hon. Folorunsho Bamisayemi, to go back for the revision classes currently going on to prepare our students for the examination commencing on the 17th of August, 2020.

“I want to passionately appeal to the affected Ex N-Power Volunteers in both Batch A and Bath B to please honour Osun Government. No sacrifice is too much for the future of our students.”

Don't mind the Governor. Though I don’t blame him cos he has been financially decapacitated by his predecessor through huge debt.

The only serious time teachers were recruited was when some OyinCorps teachers were recruited permanently into the teaching service by Olagunsoye Oyinlola.
Since 2012 when teachers have been massively retiring every year, nothing has been done in the state to replace them except some contract teachers like N-Power and probably O-whatever

Now the state is so deficient of teachers and having to call on already laid off contract teachers by the FG.

This means that the burden of the teaching in the state has been on the Npower teachers.

Some of you politicians were teachers, oh, they passed through tertiary institutions and served in secondary schools during NYSC too, why not also go back to the classrooms to sacrifice?

horrendous shame on the state government! Embarrassing to be on short supply of teachers. Our government will never look into the education industry.

they'll never look into education industry because it keeps us as perpetual slaves. Developing our education industry is akin to empowering the people to revolt against the government because they'll no longer tolerate the elites' poor administration and wanton corruption. So yes overlooking the education industry has been, is, and will remain a deliberate/intentional effort.

N power volunteers should sacrifice while the politician's accounts keep getting fatter on per second billing.

Since the state has realised the importance of the volunteers, why not call them and work out a form of stipend with them.

What is even #30k to pay these guys in this Buhari regime?

Wicked rulers

Does this means they had no teachers before the NPower crew was sent to them? If yes, why didn't they reach a consensus with the crew before they left?

What did the Governor do for them when the disaster minister refused to pay them their stipends or when they were summarily exited against the initial arrangement? Why should they honour the Governor now? If he wants their service then he should be ready to pay for it.

Nigeria government and it's advisers are not serious walahi, Nigeria leaders keep proofing their are myopic and can't reason beyond present or maybe I should say they only care about their selfish interest.
Now to the main topic... Using kwara state as an example ( where I reside ),NPOWER volunteers are the ones teaching most core subjects and topics in government schools,no be say na mouth dem sabi pass most old teachers, most of the volunteers are graduates and even masters holders, unlike some of the teachers that only have NCE and most of them have other things they do like selling things ( I don't blame them though cos their take home is little ) but it all bounce back on the students at long run. One of the greatest achievement of this government would have be NPOWER but they still wan destroy am. If they disengage this present batches do they think the coming batch will be dedicated or take the scheme serious despite knowing what they did to their predecessors Abeg make person tell our leaders to please stop playing beneficial politics with everything and work on moving this country forward.
Lastly the bitter truth is NIGERIA EDUCATION is in a coma and dying. If we don't rescue it now wahala go dey ooo, most public schools are nothing to write home about. Stop making it look like standard level of education in Nigeria is okay, back then a grade 6 student better pass some present so called graduates. Nigeria it's time to wake up. Peace
From a patriot
TSADO PETER.

No need to beg the beneficiaries.

They should beg that minister of disaster Sadiya Umar to pay them instead of siphoning money in disguise of school feeding that is practically, reasonably, spiritually and even magically impossible

Shamefully using the wassce as blackmail manoeuvre to cajole Npower teachers
