Suspicious Transaction At A POS Center by cystation: 9:38pm On Aug 12, 2020
Today we noticed somebody came to withdraw N300,000 we told him we have only N200,000 available.

He opted to take it at a higher commission charge. The pos approved the withdrawal. In suspicion of this transaction where the name in the card differs with the name the man gave us, we asked for his identity and that of the owner of the card, the man went out stating that he wants to buy recharge card to call the real owner of the card.

We waited for him from 1.48pm to 4pm when he reappeared with another person who claimed to be an engineer that sent him to withdraw the money.

Meanwhile the name in the ATM card indicates name of a woman. The engineer claimed that the owner of the card is his wife and the person that brought the ATM Card for withdrawal is his brother in-law.

We asked them to produce the ATM card to enable us see the name again and pay them their money just know if we can retrieve the ATM card but they said they left the ATM card inside their car parked at a place a little far away from us.

They opted to go and collect the ATM card from their car but did not come back till we left the market (shop) by a little after 6pm.

Please i need suggestions on what to do as we are still in possession of the N200,000 already withdrawn from the account.
Copied!

The best thing you can do to help her is to contact the customer care of the account lodge the complain and tell them you have already withdrawn the money from that woman account
Then ask them to block that account from withdrawing through atm.

1. Contact your bank. Make sure you lodge a complain, fill a form or something from the bank.

Remember the real owner of the account may show up and accuse you of fraud.

2. Another option is to do an affidavit and keep it. You don't want someone to accuse you of fraud in Nigeria today. The police is not your friend...

'An affidavit is a statement made under oath that some fact, or set of facts, is true to the best of the knowledge of the deponent (the person making the statement). They are deposed to either in a court (before a judge or commissioner of oaths) or before a notary public".

This is 2020, be wise.

All the best..
