just like the strange eviction notice given to Ikoku parts sellers in portharcourt, some of these sellers have been there for over 30yrs .

who is the invisible landlord?

Crony capitalism, perhaps the nation has been sold already.

Enjoy ur APChits. No foresight.nothing. ..u give someone 7 days notice only in this hard times? Won't they look for another shop? I can understand that maybe they are squatters and squatters are entitled to only 7 days notice, but let us have a human face...there was recession before Covid19 pandemic.. people are hungry n dying.. instead of Bubu n co to help out, they are adding more stress.. increasing fuel, and all what not..I give up on this kwantry

Shop, shop, shop everywhere. Nigerians love mercantalism. No creativity needed, no hardwork needed, just sit back and wait for cash to roll in. Even great sporting venues are not spared the scourge of the tradesmiths

you are very right o even those claiming legal occupants is just laughable, was the stadium originally a market square? that is the legality there. Any other agreement they entered into to occupy the place is illegal. Nigerians at time don't think deep. If they even go to court, they will loose

the business owners decided to help our wasteful federal government by utilising the abandoned stadium as a business and source of employment to many. now all of a sudden you want to chase people who have utilised our national assets in a meaningful way out so you can in the name of rehabilitation loot our money. like i said when we are ready we would fight our government

Though 7 days is too short, but the govt took the right decision those kiosk should not be at the national stadium. We like illegalities in this country.

The notice is too short. Since they are legal owners they should look for the eviction clause in their contract and see how it will favor them in this instance.

There is no legal contract.

We don't love each other enough to tolerate ourselves in this country. People's businesses have been grounded for several weeks and just when they started to make things work again that's when our "very thinking government" decided to flex muscles. undecided undecided

Why are they renovating the stadium? Shouldn't the best plan of action be the selling or leasing the stadium to an organisation that can operate, market and maintain this historical edifice. Government needs to get out of owning infrastructures that they cannot maintain.

The London Olympic stadium was handover to West Ham FC to operate for profit. Wembley Stadium is part owned by the UK government and a for-profit company.

Nigeria needs to focus on operation management and not just building infrastructures that they can't operate, the Lagos bridges, refineries, Ikoyi secretatriat are all comatose, because the country lacks the management skills and finance to maintain and operate these expensive edifice.

That is not entirely the case. The economic environment makes us so. Where is the electricity you are going to use to power your creative ideas? Where are the favorable policies to crown your hard work with success? Even if they are there, are they implemented? Did you read the Interview Innoson granted few days back? He now supplies to Sierra Leone. implementation of beautiful policies are ruse here.

Truth be told. Seven days notice is too short for legal occupants. They should get an injunction to extend the notice.

oga even stadiums outside Nigeria have stores and shops, even modern ones have hotels, so don’t make it sound like it’s a Nigerian thing! It’s common everywhere
