In 2018, four of these US soldiers (based in Niger) were killed in an ambush by terrorists. Still, that hasn't deterred US involvement in Niger. Rather, it has escalated it.

It is as simple as one of your top government official sending the greenlight to Washington and before you know it, there will be a US military contingent here under the guise of "training" or "partnering" with your country's Army/Armed forces.
