Lionel Messi has chosen Manchester City as the club he wants to play for according to @marcelobechler, the reporter that first broke the news about Neymar's transfer from Barcelona to PSG.

Eight clubs are believed to have expressed their interest in signing Messi who handed in a transfer request to Barcelona via fax on Tuesday. The clubs are Manchester City, Juventus, PSG, Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea, Inter Milan and AC Milan.

However, based on recent reports, Manchester City is Messi's preferred destination.
