igerians are happy people and we celebrate every occasion no matter how little it may seem.

From wedding parties to house warming, birthdays, naming ceremonies, car warming ceremonies, kindergarten graduation parties and the likes, attending owanbes is an important part of our society today.

For every party that is hosted, especially weddings, souvenirs are bound to be shared. This is considered a ‘thank you for coming to celebrate with us and eat our rice’ kind of gift. Also, a souvenir leaves you with fond memories of the event.

Over the years, Nigerians have shown their uniqueness through the souvenirs they share at events and here is a list of those I consider funny:

Salt and Maggi: since no one ever complains that they hate salt, party hosts will continue to share it. Maggi is the sidekick.

Scouring powder: in case you have any pot with a black bottom that needs a complete makeover, a scouring powder will come in handy.

Vaseline: you get to use it during the Harmattan period so your skin will be well oiled and shiny.

Cello tape: if you have a torn book at home, cello tape to the rescue! And if you have a guest at your house who wouldn’t stop talking, then you know what to do with the tape.
