I think the worst place for any youth to work is any government agencies. You retire and your wait forever for your benefits, even government jobs make you mentally lazy.

Except if the DSP was dismissed, if not what then on earth will make a retired officer steal a goat? Could it be nemesis?

May God have mercy on Nigeria.

Our leaders, police are reflections of an average Nigerian.

I see this differently. This is the failure of our govt to look after our pensioners. We complain that our police take bribe, tell me, if u are a policeman, having seen that a retired DSP can't even afford a goat for his mom burial, what faith do u think awaits a copra or sergeant after retirement? A country where ur one day money can't buy u a goat meat is a dead country. This man must have been a law abiding citizen during his service days, but look at his life, worthless and hopeless after giving ur best years to the country, only to retire and become a beggar. Meanwhile, our govt are busy giving lands, money, and first class treatment to boko haram members. This is why our public office holders steal because tomorrow is not sure. But Oga there could have been other better ways to honor ur mother, not by stealing another person's goat.

A retired Deputy Superintendent of Police identified as Godwin Abah, also known as Goddy Mopol has been arrested alongside two others for stealing goat to mark mother’s one year remembrance

DSP Goddy and the two other suspects believed to be commercial motorcyclists, were arrested for allegedly stealing goat in Owukpa, Ogbadibo LGA of Benue State during the week.

IDOMA VOICE reports that, the retired police officer was planning to do his mother’s one year remembrance and needed a goat for the ceremony.

“He allegedly sent the boys to get him a goat but luck ran out on them,” a source told the newspaper.

Luck however, ran out on him as he was arrested by the vigilante, who beat him mercilessly.

Meanwhile, the suspects have been take to Orokam divisional police headquarters.
