How we met is an attestation to the mystical power of Àrìnàkò.
The day had just begun to break when my sálúbàtà found it's way to ojúde Oba,
There i found you, a goddess in human skin.
Elédùmarè meticulously perfected his work on you omoge.
From a distance i could discern your beauty to be àwòtúnwò.

Ìbàdíàrán,
Our eyes met as you passed me by,
My heart fluttered like the leaves, dancing to the melodius tune of Éfúfúlélé.
My breath quickened like a race horse on a harsh terrain.
Òtútù ìfé crept upon me and a fire was lit in my soul – putting me in equilibrium.

Awéléwà,
I called unto you, like olóhùn iyò,
You came back to me with your glamour.
I took your name, and gave you mine lésèkesè.
Then, you gave me a smile – the brightest i've ever seen.
We'll meet again, you said.
I stood there transfixed, grinning foolishly like ewúré that heard it's death sentence is still far.
I watched you leave; walking majestically in the manner of àrèmobìnrin.
You got me daydreaming.

Òrékeléwà
Ever since i met you, my days has become so colorful like Òsùmàrè.
My love for you surpasses the love of the brown roofed city people for Àmàlà láfún.
I'll never trade you for anything Ìfé mi,
Not even for a set of maidens from Òyó-ilé.

Eyínménugún,
You're endowed with a temperate set of teeth, radiant face and a pair of smart lips.
As Òkín is the olójà eye, you're the quintessence of beauty my love.
I'll do anything for you.
I'm a brainchild of your mind, just a whisper and I'll be there.


Ewàtómi,
For you I'll go to war with the ferocious army of Ìdàhòmì.
I'll fight and bring down giants in ìjàkadì, as termites does to dead trees with their voraciousness.
For your love, i'll face the four hundred and one irúnmolè of our land
Have no fear, nothing will come between us.

Olólùfé,
Calabash carving belongs to the clan of OnÍrèsé,
As anvil belongs to the people of Ìrènímògún.
Odíderé belongs to the land of olódò obà,
You belong to me, àyànfé mi.

Arewà mi,
Let us study the concept of Ìrépò.
Pace to my arms like tatíwere that an does to her crying baby.
Cling unto me with the fierceness of olúwonkoko.
Be my woman, and i promise to be your man everyday.
