His face should not have been captured, a man hunt will be launched and will end up back in prison.

Nigeria doesnot have the capacity to conduct a manhunt

I know a guy who has been in prison awaiting trial for 13 years. If you doubt, I'll arrange for you to meet the guy in prison. I came out on bail last month after 2 years of waiting without trial too. This country is due for formatting. No regards for human right in anyway.

Please, help us know if the freed prisoners dressing is normal, because there is so much talk about bags and watches and earphones.

You've not heard the half of it. The government is not feeding the awaiting trial inmates . What is given them for food is so small and unhygienic that those who eat them take ill and most die for lack of medical care. Imagine demanding money before treating an inmate who is critically ill and unable to make contact with their families!

This happens to inmates whether awaiting trial or convicted and it's sad. Many inmates have died of treatable diseases

I chop from the same meal for good 2 weeks before I was released from a crime even my plaintiff attested my innocency)... Only God's kingdom can remove the wickedness being perpetrated by man

Two years in prison awaiting trial without investigation ?

Inspector Dele, hope you get your deserved comeuppance

This guy might just be a serial rapist. Now they have freed him unlawfully...

It is normal. They only wear uniforms when formally opened out to be within the yard but are free to wear whatever they like inside their cells and while going to court. This apparently is not a formal open-out therefore no uniform.

Secondly, if an inmate has people who come to visit they can bring him stuffs to take care of himself (including clothes) that's why some still look somewhat well and reason for the items with them. One can live relatively well depending on one's pocket but how many have that Oocapacity? Eating the prison ration is suicide, though.

The convicted inmates are treated a bit better, at least where I was. They say awaiting trial inmates are not recognized by government, in other words, they don't exist.

I wanted you to state it for the people who don't believe they could have been wearing their own clothes. Some silly children think that you cannot have those things.
Have your peace, bro. You've reminded me of some tereible days.

A prisoner cease to enjoy the privilege life of a citizen of a country and not a citizen again, so whatever can be done to a prisoner cause they can never claim any rights again....

Don't come here and be deceiving the gullible.
Except in situations where a court order has been issued granting the forfeiture of an inmated's life, that inmate still has some basic rights.

Imprisonment entails confinement to reduce or denie liberty not forfeiture of life or all fundamental rights like right to life.

A lot of people in prison are there because of no specific reason.
A cousin of mine who traveled to Lagos for work got arrested around 9pm during a police raid at the area, the raid was as a result of a deadly fight that happened ealier in the day. Note: This cousin of mine was not aware of the incident that happened because he used to leave home early in the morning and come back late at night.

Those that were raided called thier relatives and they got bailed the second day, unfortunately for my cousin he lost his phone during the raid... More to the story.

Long story short, he was taken to court the second week which was the month end, he was to pay a bill of 15k by the Judge, since non of his people was there he was taken to prison. Could you believe he was in prison for complete two years for no specific reason?
Fortunately for him after second year he was in the prison, a boy was brought to the prison and they became friends because they are from the same local government, they shared experiences of what got them to prison and it was both raid. When the parents of the boy came to bail him after the court hearing, my cousin pleaded with the boy and wrote our family home address to the boy and his parents in order for them to let us know what happened to him.
He spent 2 years and a month in prison before we heard about him and we were able to travel down to Lagos and bail him from the court.

That means if that boy from his local government was not brought to prison that means my cousin might still be in prison by now.

Falsely accused and illegally detained people are set free. After all book haram are free to move about.

Sorry, but buhari was the first to free terrorist and called it reform. He set terrorist free, Benin people copied him.

If he can reform Boko Haram he might as well open our prisons so that everyone can be reformed.

Sorry if I sound bad but what is good for Uganda is also good for Ghana. I don't condone violence.
I have visited this prison twice during outreaches. There are four gates before this main one you see., each of them are really gigantic structures. How did they open all four of them to gain access to the prisoners? Something does not add up here #EndSARS

All of a sudden, all Nigerian prisoners just became innocent! That's right. I wonder where they're keeping all the rapists, kidnappers armed robbers, murderers, etc.
A prisoner surfaced in a video and declared himself innocent and he just became innocent like that? I'm sure those ones who killed that university girl inside the church during the lockdown are among the freed prisoners. They're innocent too.
This madness will turn around and bite you in the as$, fact not a curse

May you become a victim of a crime you know nothing of.

He was more showing his face and the cameraman tried to focus on his chest.

The fact he was this bold shows his innocence, as well as his pains for unlawful detention.

I know things like this happen, I am not disputing these facts. However, coming out to say a prisoner has no right whatsoever is wrong. Prisoners have rights just that in this part of the world where we find ourselves no one gives a damn about their rights. Infact, a freeman in Nigeria still gets his right trampled on on a daily basis, talk less of a prisoner.
