Corruption is a clog in the wheel of progress in Nigeria and has incessantly frustrated the realization of noble national goals,
despite the enormous natural and human resources in Nigeria.

Around July 2020, the ex-Chairman of the now scrapped Pension Reform Task Team, Abdulrasheed Maina, alongside his son, Faisal, standing trial for alleged theft of pension funds was released from the Kuje prison in Abuja.

Unfortunately, the former pension chief who's battling with a 12-count charge, which he pleaded not guilty to all has not been physically present for his trials before Justice Okon Abang.

Mr Maina was alleged of diverting billions of pension funds, the fund meant to give survival to old men and women in the nation.

It was reported that he hide himself for almost two years, before he was arrested by the State Security Service last year. Again, after securing bail with the help of a North-east senator, Ali Ndume, Maina is no where to be found again.

Therefore, it's safe to conclude that Maina, like any other trying leaders in Nigeria decides to frustrate the court by not appearing for the sixth time. It is an act of disnonesty and cowaridce to see Maina on a bed alleging that he's troubled with his knee. Yet, he did not seem it fit to tell the courthouse through his lawyers at the appropriate time.
