@Jonbee and everyone who's posted on this issue, u are all not alone. We r in this together...lol.

It's amazing to know that there's a name for the issue. I must confess ur case Jonbee is an extreme one with the anger and all. I've had this issue since I was a lil girl. First I remember I was in Secondary School and a boarder so u can imagine the living conditions. I would wake up earlier than the rest to go shower whilst the bathroom's dry and neat and all then I'd get back into the dorm, dry my feet on a rag and then jump on my bed to attend to the itching bout that always ensued.
This issue has persisted. My mom told me she had same issue as a young girl and changed sponges till the prob automatically stopped. My younger sis also experiences this but hers isn't as regular as mine.

The remedies listed by most people here have worked occasionally for me, stopped using sponges but a cotton face cloth and NEVER bath with cold water except on very hot nights and surprisingly, I don't itch on such days.

Now, the main reason y I googled the issue and then found this thread is cos I itch just for nothing, NOTHING!!! Mine doesn't just happen after a bath but almost anytime it pleases the irritant.

For instance, today's been a cold day and I have the flu so stayed home and wrapped myself up in a furry blanket and then the monster surfaced to the point it woke me from sleep.

I itch just by thinking of something irritating, not drying up my skin immediately after bath and standing right in front of a fan with the ac on as well and my feet on a towel to dry them and then sometimes for no just reason.

You guys have been of great help to me this evening and I'll make out time to see a doc as I don't want to use self medication to avoid harming myself.

Thank you so much guys and pardon me for my epistle. We shall overcome!

I really thought I was the only one going through this. It started when I was in Junior Secondary and one of my friends thought it was "egbesi". True, it worsens when I see anything dirty around and I get angry too. I dunno why I experience mine mostly every Sunday morning then, I would become frantic when it was Sunday morning and I had to take my bath. It stopped long ago around 2009 but all of a sudden resurfaced again this harmattan(2015), and became intense this Sunday morning which was why I decided to google it to find out if I was the only one suffering from this or it was a condition. Thanks a lot, I am not alone, lol.

Wow, i just search for this online and this link popped up. It feels so much better to know am not facing this alone. I manage mine by ensuring that my bed linens, towel, bathroom clothes are clean at all times, cos they tend to trigger the itch when dirty. Before i go to bathe, i sweep my room, keep a clean rag around to dry my feet, arrange my bed and bring out the clothes i need to wear. After bathing i clean my body in the room and apply body cream immediately, it helps to resolve the itch faster. Thank you so much.

Hi everybody. Thanks to you all for your diverse solutions. In my case, i have generally most of the symptoms enumerated above and what works for me is to take my shower with Detol soap and Hot water, as hot as i can handle. But I am fed up with taking Hot water shower every single day in Africa where the temperature is already a hot one. Does someone has a permanent solution please ?

jeez!!..Finally got the name for this...took a local herb once and it stopped for a month and was back again..tried the doctors but got injections and tablets which did not help..Then i lost hope and started thinking it's my mind like everyone would say..some would even say am going crazy..My dad had it too though but hiz disappeared..my mum and bro also experience it but at a very minimal rate...mine is so bad that even thinking about irritating places and myself in the bathroom triggers the itching..anger is a very bad symptom i experience, everyone at home stays far from me when it starts..Had to go extra miles and rent a very big place in school so that i dont share the house or stay with anyone...its been very though these past 6 years...even excited to know it has a name, something could be done about it and also people who know exactly how i feel.

Anyone ever hear of this?
Blood packed with too many red blood cells produces a gamut of symptoms. It makes a person sluggish. Many complain of being dizzy or having headaches or hearing a constant ringing in their ears. One peculiar symptom that occurs in a few is an intense itch after taking a warm bath or shower.

Hi my name is Emily I have suffered from this for about 10 years now. The only thing that seems to help me is baking soda baths. I just had an episode lasted 15 minutes. I have to get under cotton sheets I become irritable not as bad as some of you. The itching is so bad makes me want to cry sometimes I even do. I have asked many doctors they all look at me like I'm crazy. I have searched the internet for years trying to find out what it is I'm so glad I found this post.

Mine happens when I trek for some distance after rainfall, especially when I see irritating things on the road like faeces or gutter and so on, The itching starts from my legs Upward and it makes me go crazy that I even start breathing heavily like I'm going crazy. It also happens sometimes if I try to go on jogging exercise. The itching usually stops on it's own after I scratch for like 10 minutes.
Do anyone have the same type?

THERE IS POWERFUL BREAKTHROUGH SOLUTION NOW!

IAB(itching After bath) or
aquagenic Pruritus!!!! - the super intense
itching of the skin due to exposure to moisture, sweet, water, caused by die-hard bacteria, but it is curable . The problem is better handled by specialist skin doctor rather than physician. This is because it's a prickling heat like epidermal itching uncontrollably without observable skin lesions . It is evoked by contact with water, making it hard to diagnose.

Just In, SOLUTION TO IAB:
We are not happy the way many people who have calling us has suffered too much to get treated. This is why we have received limited quality of new batch of the miracle cure for IAB which has treated IAB problems in many countries . This IAB product was designed by specialists Dermatologist from Europe .
TO ORDER,THE PRODUCT IS CASH ON DELIVERY(24hours within Lagos) AND VERY AFFORDABLE. It is as simple as you pay only when the product reaches your home or office.
If you want to get it treated today,
Call or text " S.I."to this dispatch number 0 7 0 6 2 4 2 5 4 1 7 ,Pls do not patronize any other number, as we do not any distributor for now to avoid early faking. Also in other to respect moderator rules we can't say much here. Thanks.

Wow @jon bee, I went tru d same as u exactly, for more than 18 yrs now, apart from d anger part tho, but deep inside me I always get frustrated about it, i remember my boarding sch days wen I would have to wake up early and bath then come bak to bed and itch while everyone else are going to have their bath, this stuff really suffered me a lot in my sec sch days and it was a military boarding sch(command), I can never forget d worst day of my life, during harmattan season when it always worst for me, a particular day I was madly itching and it was already time for classes, soldiers where chasing everyone out of d hostel I was still in bed itching, d soldier came and was flogging me stupidly I didn't even know which one to scratch, I had to run out itching all over my body like a mad man... Mehn I have kind of gotten use to it now tho, I do try diff stuff I see online but it doesn't seem to work.
