Today we will conclude the meditation we started yesterday on achieving greatness.

Cush begot Nimrod; he began to be a mighty man on the earth.
– 1 Chronicles 1:10

Nimrod had even more excuses to blend with the crowd because in his days there was nothing like electricity, no vehicular transportation, all movements were done on barefoot, all the tools they had then were crude and probably made from stone. But Nimrod ignored all these restricting environmental factors and began to do what he set his mind to do. He did not settle for less. He began to do, and when the people around him saw that he was doing, they joined him and this afforded him the leverage to do more.

Many people are waiting for encouragement from others before they could start something, it may never come. When you encourage yourself to start, then others may team up with you or support you one way or another. But you have to first start.

Another reason people never start is due to procrastination; they are waiting for a perfect time. A wise man once said, “instead of waiting for a perfect time, make the time perfect;” there is no better time to do what you desire to do than now (2 Corinthians 6:2). Nimrod defied all the odds against him to start and he became great in his time. The same way most of the great people in our times had to discipline themselves to start what we celebrate them for today. If they hadn’t started, there won’t have been anything to anchor their renown on.

If you too must make a name for yourself, you have to exercise the discipline of making the right choices and then starting what you have set to do without delay. And when you start, don’t stop or look back.

You will succeed in Jesus Name!

You have to be seriously desperate for you to use Nimrod as an example of the kind of greatness one who is of God ought to aspire towards. undecided
