The Bible warns us against tattoos in Leviticus 19:28 (Amplified) which says, "Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print or tattoo any marks upon you: I am the Lord."

With the notable exception of tattoos borne by members of the armed forces, to enable identification of body parts after battles, my personal opinion is that ALL other tattoos and skin piercings betray an insecure, attention-seeking personality type who cannot bear to be ignored, and who has little to offer in the way of originality or real accomplishments.  Further exceptions to this rule are musicians and other performers whose livelihoods thrive on the oxygen of controversy and odd physical appearance.
