nice ones. looks like the london underground except that the names were changed.

what a joke though. lagos will solve the problem of roads, then overground.

With nearly 17mill residents crammed into a city the size of Los Angeles in which has only about 4 million residents---- Lagos needs one of those systems like the lungs need air, in that the overcrowdedness is literally choking the life out of the city and a subway of that scale will surely act a well needed breath of fresh air to the situation. It will take millions of commuters off of the roads everyday and place them under ground to do their commuting. Perhaps if the government is able to do as planed and begin to produce the 10,000mw promised by next year or the latter part of next year and remain consistent with their ultimate drive for 50,000mw by 2015 the creation of such a metro system in Lagos will truly be a rational concept to proceed upon.

What will happen when, on an hourly basis, thousands of commuters on the imaginary "Lagos subway" get caught underground due to electrical power failure ?

By the time this will come to reality, nigeria would have celebrated at least two years uninterrupted power, so let's continue to pray for that time. It can be achieved.

if other parts of the world did it, why not in Nigeria and in Lagos especially? Lagos is one of the biggest cities in the world - maybe if the Lagos Metroline had been made to succeed, it would have surpased what is imagined here.

Some skeptics will say things dont work in Nigeria - let them remain in their dream land while people like us reap the juice of the land.

this is a pure lie. How can somebody paste the edited letters on an underground map and we all accept. Exactly uk map? No. This was done to ease congestion problem in zone 1 in London. Or else they must be stupid. It will affect ticket price again. If u are in the uk u'll under stand better. Other uk residents wil tel u more, am on phone browsing and cant shout

I will tell you now, building a subway in Lagos will not only be financially unfeasible, but will be much more difficult to build than it was in cities like New York, or London, or Moscow.

Lagos has a lot of marshlands, meaning the soil is much more unstable, raising the costs to astronomical heights. If it were necessary, only one line would be needed on the busiest route in the metropolis.

Everything else should be concentrated on an overground system consisting of: light rail, monorail, elevated rail, commuter rail, high speed train, and brt.
