The Agents would provide details of those who engaged them to clear the container.

Same way arms and ammunition were brought into Apapa Port and they arrested an Iranian .only for him to bolt away through his embassy .

Where are the ammunition up till now ?

And the tramadol that was seized is still lying at the port .

They could have just used the agents to play along after discovering the drugs so they can catch the owners of the cargo. The agents surely know nothing about the contents of the cargo.

I beg to differ. Not in all cases.

There is what is called concealment , false declaration in customs parlance . All units has to be "touched "before release is done . So , if the container is open and close that means there is no 100percent is done on the container .

Use of scanners were disrupted for selfish motive .
A lot of things would have been uncovered .

There would have been speedy delivery of consignment by importers . But , they kill most of these things because of selfish motive

Those clearing agents may not even have an idea what's in the consignment.

The security agents should have allowed the package to clear and trailed it to its final destination to arrest the real culprits..

Such a pity deployment of intelligence by nigerian agencies is like rocket science and nuclear physics.

Has anyone noticed these arrests started with the installation of Buba Marwa as the head of NDLEA? At least one Visionary leader still exists in Nigeria. Such a man will rid Nigeria of criminal elements if he is elected President. BM for 2023

it took me alot of discipline not to insult you. Go and sin no more.

N32B in deed. I'm just wondering, to all the "what money can not solve, more money will solve it" apologists, how much is "more money" than "N32B" if it was really the quoted amount.

Stupid. Couldn't they have followed the container to its final destination?
Why arrest the Agents knowing fully well they wouldn't have an idea of the illegal contents thereby allowing the main guys flee.

arrest must be made nah grin is it not Nigeria again? cheesy

So, this investment just go down the drain like that? Someone's hustle and money? Very sad.

Before you mention me, between kidnapping, armed robbery, ritual killing and drug trafficking, which is more legit and lesser evil?

Drug traffickers should be left alone. Some of you don't know the courage and investment that goes into this business.

Whenever they succeed, you people will hail them and pray to be in their shoes but whenever they are bursted, you will be the first person to castigate them on nairaland

You are really Offpoint 100%
I know you're from that region of the fallen sun to defend your trade. Hard drug trafficking actually creates more dangerous effects in society than all those you've mentioned.

You're funny. And lose the whole package in the name of following it? Who does that? Not even mighty USA! They did the right thing which was also the best, waited for the clearing agents and they get get one person but two people. This is not 24 hours but reality

samwilly my friend, your descriptive acumen gives hope to this country but the corruption embedded in the process of appointment in Nigeria is a backdrop to its development.
Normally, the agent ought to be investigated to ascertain his level of complicity but the bulk of the investigation should be on who owns the goods and how it got to here. I appreciate God for your wisdom.

Thank you Sir.
