It is just a matter of time. Time was when coal held sway. In a few years time industry will be penaliaed for coal use and the price will continually sink. Oil will invariably follow. Right now gas is the main thing. Petroleum gas will go before natural gas then water and air will finally be the fuel left.

By the way plastics are viewed as an environmental threat as well. By the way fertilizers are gas based products not oil based, chemicals? are made of a diverse number of source elements.

Dangote and BUA refineries are good developments for Nigeria. I would have preferred these be situated in other states that have coastline such as Ogun, Ondo, Cross River or Akwa Ibom. However, I have a honest question, Lagos as it is presently is overcrowded. Thanks to the population explosion because of economic opportunity.

In developed countries where the population is fast declining not in China, Vietnam, India who are building new coal plants every month. Then, it's Sub-Saharan Africa whose population is the fastest growing that will penalise crude oil production and uses? In China and India, coal still accounts for more than 50% of energy use not solar or wind. In Germany, after shutting down nuclear plants because of misinformation regarding Fukushima, she resorted to coal. Same thing happened to Japan. Then, it's Africa that will penalise the petroleum industry?

Regarding plastics, again, it's in developed countries where such penalties will occur not Africa that's looking for cheap plastics to grow its economy. Fossils aren't going anywhere.
