December last year, Popular Nigerian singer, Peter Okoye, aka Mr. P announced the launch of his alcoholic wine company named Aphro Palm Spirit.

The new age African liquor is triple distilled, locally tapped from palm trees in West Africa, infused with fruits, herbs, and spices, and unapologetically African.

A foreign magazine Diaspora Glitz Magazine owned by Anambra state born entrepreneur Obi-West Utchaychukwu featured Aphro Palm Spirit on the back cover of the new edition.

Highly impressive. Even as lucrative as the music industry is, some of these artistes are still not depending on their musical talents alone, but rather pursuing multiple streams of income. Hardly will this kind of people go broke when they stop singing.

I don’t think I like him too. I think he show off a bit too much...Peters mansion, Peters shoes, cars etc I see him or like him the way I like Dino Melaye... I think both seek attention and constitute nuisance to social media.

....I can’t deny the fact that he is talented, ambitious, creative and he is ‘in your face’ kind of person...that’s extremely pushy...no matter how much I try to avoid reading about him, I end coming back to have a look.

About his product. I think he scored big here. I like the name ‘Aphro’...Afro-African-Black...Aphro could as well be aphrodisiac...The name makes you want to find out more.

I like the shape of the bottle, design, colour.
I like the fact that it’s from palm wine... at least it claims to be from palm.

My curiosity made me to find out, even confirming my age before I could have a look at the products and I’m impressed with my discovery.

I saw Moor, Nubi drinks confirming that Aphro here means black... I was expecting another flavour called Kush or Cush and I hope he will create more.

I saw 150 or GHS 160 which I converted to pounds...just about £20.

My verdict. I really really like this product. The guy has worked hard and deserve to reap rewards. If I can buy Port wine worth £20-25 as present for someone, I don’t see why I won’t buy Aphro drink.

I thought I had corrected this many months ago.

Check Aphro and confirm for yourself. It is not even a Nigerian brand.
