“For many are called, but few are chosen” (Matt. 22:14). That was the reply the Lord Jesus gave in a Parable. In this Parable a king was giving a wedding feast but the invited guests made excuses not to come. Servants were then commanded to go to the highways and invite whoever was there. The king joined his guests and discovered a man who had no wedding garment. This man was then bound and cast into the outer darkness. In that place where there is weeping and gnashing of teeth. Then Jesus said, “For many are called, but few are chosen”.

“For many are called, but few are chosen”. This means that many hear the Gospel, but FEW only will be chosen by God. We see that to be true in Africa. Very few Africans are real Christians and we easily see it because many are corrupt, many seek witchdoctors, and many have the culture of stealing, pretending, and lying.

Few are chosen in Africa because REPENTANCE is missing, and Africans laugh at repenting. It is called acting like a White man! Many Africans will not repent. We see it all the time! The civil servant with the many office schemes, the student who cheats, the trader who sells at different prices for different people, the politician who steals, the worker who steals, the child and teenager who steals. Even knowing that stealing, cheating and dishonesty is a sin, many refuse to repent in the true way. Most carry on with sin, but the few who may stop the stealing and cheating still will not truly repent because they will not make RESTITUTION. Restitution is the only evidence of real repentance. God made that clear to us that is why the Gospel includes the story of Zaccheus. The story is in Luke 19: 1-10.

Zaccheus was a corrupt civil servant. He was a tax collector using his position to make unlawful and dishonest gain for himself. Just like many civil servants in Africa do. However, Zaccheus truly repented because not only did he stop his corruption, but he made RESTITUTION when he paid back four times to those he had cheated. How many Africans pay back what they have stolen, or cheated others from? Have you heard of any such African? That is because very few Africans are true Christians. Only a person who is truly sorry for his sin is able to give back to the owner what he obtained with Satan’s help (stealing and cheating) by making Restitution.

Dear African who calls himself or herself a Christian. God cannot be mocked by you. If you have not Repented and made Restitution, then you remain in Satan’s world. You have heard the Gospel call, but you must also be chosen if you will have eternal life with Lord Jesus. Each day your life is ebbing away. NOW is the time to Repent and make Restitution. “While it is said, Today if ye will hear His voice, harden not your hearts, as in the provocation”. (Hebrews 3: 15)
