You can also think of it in the line of hierarchy: There are rocks, ants, goats, humans,.... up until you get to supreme being.

That you can see, feel, taste, smell or hear something doesn't mean that it's not there. It only means that you lack the capacity to experience that thing!

You, like every other Christian, can pick and believe only the aspects that suits them and throw away the others, which is why we have tens of thousands (if not millions) of denominations with each one singing that his own theory is the best.

So, you can deny the existence of hell and call it Gehenna or whatever you like. But, what you cannot deny is the several times Jesus Himself vividly described eternal torment and suffering!

Long and short of what you just said is, truth is elusive.
