On the 2nd of March 2021, 479 new confirmed cases and 8 deaths were recorded in Nigeria
Till date, 156496 cases have been confirmed, 134551 cases have been discharged and 1923 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory
The 479 new cases are reported from 22 states- Lagos (153), Enugu (75), Rivers (50), FCT (40), Kaduna (18), Ebonyi (17), Plateau (17), Edo (17), Borno (16), Oyo (12) Kano (11), Abia (10), Cross River (10), Taraba (9), Nasarawa (7), Bauchi (4), Bayelsa (3), Delta (3), Ekiti (2), Niger (2), Ogun (2) and Akwa Ibom (1)

Without an askance about the verisimilitude of these figures being vulcanized by the evolution of each passing day, and without any valid reason to floccinaucinihilipilificate such asseveration from the statutory body, instilling it into our sensitive perception that the debilitating effect of this pervasive population decimator, one that has resolutely defied all entreaties of medical prognosis, might lead many to spend the night that knows no earthly waking if at individualistic and collective level, a paroxysm of significant precautionary inclination, is not emphasized in full throttle.
I dare aver, even at the risk of sounding platitudinously humdrum that much as rudderless we have posed since the advent of this global concern in terms of deliberate effort to proffer a panacea to this quagmire, given the centrifugal excrescence of valiant attempts by statutory enforcers to ensure that adequate social precautions are taken into due congnizance to forestall an ugly sceptre of indecent incident of dissident distribution of this malady within the social space, our greatest undoing is the trivialization of how pernicious the threat inherent in this pandemic may be.
But above all, who are we to cavil and complain when our amaranthine remote assistance in Nigeria, comes from above, our lacklustre endeavours notwithstanding?
