More Photos Of BUA Sugar Plantation Dangote, Coumantaros Wanted To Shut Down

Below are Photographs of the Massive BUA Sugar Plantation and Refinery in Lafiagi, Kwara State.

The Project which is line with the Federal Government's Backward Integration Policy is running and it is the only one of the 3 BIP players that has invested anything significant.

As it stands, the project has two parts working independently but together - a technical component (with a 10,000tcd sugar mill under construction (68% complete with q1 2022 delivery), 220,000mtpa sugar refinery (under construction - q1 2022 delivery), 20 million litres per annum ethanol plant (completed and awaiting commissioning) and 35mw power plant - 80% completed) as well as a plantation component which is 20,000 hectares (Lafiagi had only 5,000 hectares as at acquisition and final handover in 2014) with 6,000 hectares already cleared and about 2,000 hectares under cane (that is, planted).

The Port-Harcourt refinery on the other hand is export-focused and governed by the NEPZA Act. The BUA BIP is the only one with a 3 KM Airstrip capable of landing a Boeing 747 aircraft.

Economic politics among two brothers in a commercial struggle!

We need a healthy competition among them!!

Aliko Dangote is the richest black man in the world, while Abdulsamad Isiaka Rabiu is 10th on the list and 6th in Africa.

They both hailed from Kano state.

We are proud of these two Diallos!!

Kano no dey ever carry last!!

Rabiu (BUA) has really opened my eyes into how greedy and clannish the man Dangote could be... Amassing wealth at the detriment of other nascent investors.

Rabiu, even if this rudderless government continues to frustrate your effort as it's being orchestrated by Dangote, we the true lovers of free market economy will stand by you through thick and thin till a more concerned government takes over power.

In this competitive war that broke out between the two dominant producers of the Nigeria sugar industry: Dangote & BUA, the consumer is the gainer.

In microeconomics, the war is known as “Price War”. It is a situation where two rival firms reduce the price of their commodity in order to increase their revenue and market share. Normally, they did that for a short run. Whenever the war is intense, the rival firm usually reacts by setting a price lower than the price set by the other rival firm. They’ll keep on with that until they reach a point known as ‘PERFECT COMPETITIVE PRICE’, where none could either reduce or increase his price. And if any increases price, the company will lose customers to its rival. And if it reduces his price, it will surely incur loss.

So, no matter what transpires, the consumers are the gainers. Surely, they will only go for a commodity with a lower price, since that the commodities are identical and can serve the same purpose.

according to.macroeconomics....price war is needed in d market...dangote should stop playing monopoly aided with politics..
he is claim he is a smart business man as d media claim, he should go all out and allow free n open market for more competition so dt the consumers decide....he should stop imposing prices on us tru the help of f.g policies and scars perfect substitutes...

All these won't work. In fact, you are creating more lies to cover lies and it's now getting Nigerians irritated and having negative perception of Rabiu and the BUA brand so badly that I now start pitying the shareholders of BUA.

The questions are that you were importing cheap unrefined sugar to cheat your competitors and for more than a decade you didn't cultivate most of the sugar plantations as mandated in the National Sugar Master Plan while you kept taking concessions on duties and Fx in criminal breach of the law and the National Sugar Master Plan.

Clearing these serious allegations will not be by sending paid public relations handlers to Nairaland to post edited videos.

Invite the agencies of government to come see your books even if they are foot dragging.Especially EFCC,invite them and if you are clean and not actually committing crime and economic sabotage of Nigeria as most of us Nigerians suspect, sue Dangote, Flour Mills Nigeria Plc and the journalist.

I do not want to believe that you are doing all these because you have skeletons in your cupboard to hide. If you do, then you have not learnt from history. You will lose all las las.
