It no longer news that the moon was not sighted yesterday, thereby making today to be sallah. The big question will sallah holiday extend to Friday or work resumes.

On a more serious note though, can someone explain this moon sighting of a thing to me? I mean, is the Muslim calendar based on lunar months?
