Yes that is correct Isreal was never the name of King David's kingdom whose father's name was Yudah. It's a curse for a son not to bear his father's name. Despite the fact King Saul was the first king among the Hebrews new Holy land he never built the kingdom. It was King David whom built the kingdom and it was named after him. It was Jeroboam who named his break away kingdom Israel.
