I agree what you're saying here. But I think more than anything we need quality education ( not necessarily western )and political exposure . In that way we won't be easy targets for both local politicians and resource looters from outside.

Good leaders invest massively in education. Do you know tourism brings it's own form of education too, meaning we need culture of vacation and relaxation. In fact, we need recreational parks too. Our politicians know the value of knowledge that they must do anything possible in their capacity to starve millions of it. And talking about looters from the outside, enough has not and cannot be said of foreign powers who benefits massively from the retrogressive conditions of africa, as such they contribute immensely to happenings more than we have knowledge of, and are not willing to make it change, but lie so much in the media

Mandela's funeral was the global media event of the year thats why Jonathan came running to SA (despite the UN tensions u yourself brought up ). I wish I could like this post a thousand times. So true. What you said is part of the reason...infact the main reason Zuma is in the position he's in right now . He was on a mission to make meaningful and long-lasting changes in the economic landscape of the country ( a threat to the west who are the biggest beneficiaries of our resources). He invested heavily in education; government Grants for poor students, opening technical colleges where students who don't qualify for university admission would go and learn a trade for free. The west and their local allies despised this, saying we can't afford it . The fear is that the more black people get qualifty education, the more they will start questioning and fighting for the real thing .

Tourism so true: after the world cup the SA tourism industry saw the biggest growth in its history. People couldn't believe that it was possible for a township to host such a big event ,especially an african ghetto ** ....but they were proven wrong Soweto represented well and today people still come from all over the world to enjoy themselves in SA townships thanks to the exposure from the world cup and ofcourse the Zuma administration for making sure that all the necessary infrastructure is there to make things easy....world class transportation system, recreational parks etc.

As for the involvement of outsiders in our business : it goes back to my point about exposure and education...as long as we're still hungry and desperate ( useful weapons against us), we will always fight & ridicule those who are fighting for us while embracing sell- outs because western media markets them as some sort of example of how great black men should be or act.
