The Nigerian Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) has fault the Federal Government of the negligence over their Demands as the Resident Doctors Resumes Strike on Monday, 2nd August.

We Recall that the lingering Strike has been from April 1st of which it was Suspended after FG agrees to meet with their Demands. On 27th march a Document signed by the president of NARD Dr. Dr. Uyilawa Okhuaihesuyi; Secretary-General, Dr. Jerry Isogun and Publicity/Social Secretary, Dr. Dotun Osikoya on the indefinite strike embarked in April as materialize again as Federal Government failed to heed to the demands after 113 days Utimatum.

The Buhari led Government has witness numerous Strikes in the health sector over the negligence of Doctors welfare, payment structure and improvement in health care facilities. The president of NARD has briefed journalist that an agreement has been reached in the just concluded National Executive Council (NEC) Meeting of another indefinite strike as the FG government failed to honour and fulfilled their Demands.

NARD president on why Resident doctors Resumes Strike, "A Ultimatum of 113 days was given to federal government over the Payment structure, Training, Service and Improvement in health facilities has been demanded but these demands have not been met".

The Association Accused the federal government of insincerity after an agreement has been signed by both parties in Memorandum of Action before the suspension of the indefinite strike back in April.

After the NEC Meeting held in Abia state, the vote of agreement has been signed to begin the strike at 8a.m in the morning August 2. Residents Doctors has Accused the federal government of not fulfilling their parts as they said they are commitment to the improvement of the health sector if their own welfare and safety is been guaranteed.


NARD further engage pathrotic Nigerians of their willingness to continue to work but the insincerity of the government by been non-responsive to meet the doctors demands will make the Resumes Strike Nationwide.

The Association has highlighted on why Nigerian Residents doctors Resumes Strike Nationwide, "Poor condition of it's members" in state like Abia and ekiti as the fuse at such negative treatment by the state and federal government.

NARD President confirmed that NEC Meeting was chained by 50 members from different chapter across the country and As commended Lagos, Delta and Venue state for Adopting the act of fulfilling most of their Demands encouraging them to follow the same path.

The strike is very necessary, we can not continue like this , Nigeria government is shameless! The president usually jet out of the county at the slightest opportunity on health grounds while health sectors back home is badly manage and poorly funded .

ASUU is also warming up. This administration handling of key sectors is pathetic and unfortunate. 2023 is just few years away.

This is a very ridiculous comment. What else is working in Nigeria? If everyworker decides to go on strike what will happen to the nation?

Besides, the useless doctors are not even going on strike for improved health sector they are going on strike for their own selfish allowances and money nothing to do with improvement of health sector.

The day these useless doctors start going on strike for improvement of health sector we will support them. The same attitude is also being played by ASUU
