No jokes that Nigerians are not paying attention to details in her country but excited about her neighbours’ when the good news has been home with us. Unfortunately, most of our local media reporters on TV, radio and social media channels package it as passive news without publicizing the positives.

I wonder if they expect a door-door megaphone announcement to be told of the 8 companies that produce and assemble cars here in Nigeria that I know of.

The Peugeot plant in Kaduna has been up and running, assembling thousands of cars like the Peugeot 301 on their line production.
This is why you see a couple of Peugeot cars on Nigerian roads these days. Hopefully, in about 10 years from now, the brand will fly high again because the reasons Nigerians love Peugeot still haven't died.

In 2018, Hyundai announced that it wanted to start its local assembly of Hyundai cars in Nigeria under Globe Motors, the biggest Hyundai car distributor in Nigeria.
In April 2020, Hyundai rolled out its first locally assembled cars like the Hyundai i10 Grand, Hyundai Accent, Hyundai Elantra and the Hyundai ix35.
Hyundai is a car brand that has started gaining so much traction in Nigeria because it has proved over the years to be reliable, highly functional and affordable.
This step Globe Motors made is why Hyundai cars are very much available as brand new and are also way cheaper than their major Japanese competitors.

Dana motors, the biggest distributor of Kia Motors in Nigeria, also has a local automobile assembling plant that produces major Kia vehicles like the Kia Rio.
These locally assembled cars were displayed at the 2020 Argungu Motor Rally. The Kia Rio is the most assembled car of all the Kia Motors line up because it is the most common vehicle from the South Korean automaker in Nigeria having high demand from the working middle class of Nigeria. The new prices of Kia Rio in Nigeria will tell you just how beneficial these steps have been.

Coscharis, the biggest distributor of BMW, Land Rover, Rolls-Royce and Ford cars in Nigeria, has been doing so well for years by launching a lot of the latest premium cars here in Nigeria like the all-new Land Rover Defender which nobody was expecting to see in Nigeria so soon.
Coscharis completed its assembly plant for Ford vehicles in 2018 with plans to produce between 10,000 to 20,000 cars there every year.
The Ford F-150 truck was the first car to be produced in this facility and it was a success.

Nissan started its local production of cars in 2014 starting with the Nissan Patrol SUV. This made the prices of brand new Nissan cars drop and that is why you see a lot of Nissan Almeras being used as official vehicles for a lot of private companies and government institutions
The Nissan Almera and the Nissan NP300 are two vehicles that have been consistently locally produced here in Lagos
Nissan was the first automaker to move in alignment with Nigeria's new automobile policy because Stallion Motors know that the demand for brand-new cars in Nigeria grows every year and it will only be profitable to the country and the company.

Everyone knows that Innoson was the first-ever fully Nigerian company that went into the production of automobiles and they have had success doing it here in Nigeria.
Innoson has its plant in the Nnewi area of Anambra state and is owned by Chukwuma Innocent, a Nigerian business tycoon. Innoson manufactures and sells its cars throughout Africa but it hurts me that the brand hasn't been well appreciated by Nigerians.
I was happy to find out that Innoson has been making moves to improve the lives of Nigerians. A striking example is a new ride-hailing service recently launched by the automaker.
Its latest model is the Innoson Caris which is a door premium-looking sedan in addition to the already existing Innoson Umu, Fox, Ikenga, G40 and G80.

Nord Automobiles is a Nigerian automotive manufacturer with headquarters in Lagos, Nigeria.
The CEO Ajayi Joshua Oluwatobi is a young Nigerian that just has the vision to make sure that Nigeria gets on the world map of automobile makers.
The most popular automobile from Nord automobile is the Nord Tank which Nigerians love to see. It is a pick-up trunk that was beautifully designed to suit the Nigerian driving condition.
Other cars by Nord include the Nord A3, A5, Max Flit and Lasigi, ranging from sedans to full-size commuter buses.

Lanre Shittu Motors started its JAC Truck assembly plant in 2018 as a way to make heavy-duty trucks cheaper for Nigerian users.
It is learnt that the plant has the capacity to manufacture 6 units of trucks in one shift or 12 in two shifts depending on the market demand and can produce about 150 vehicles monthly.

Now that you know the 8 companies that produce and assemble cars here in Nigeria, it is time for you to start saving up to buy a brand new car at an affordable rate and our website will guide you through all you need to know about any car of your choice.
