why is it that most pastors will announce offering time but sit back and watch the people give their offering unto God without them even coming near the offering box until offering time be over?

They do.
If its a small Pentecostal church and you observe keenly, you will notice whoever is in charge of the offering box closer to the pastor goes first to where the Pastor is seated.

Now, lets talk about "imam" and "sheikh"
