Between 2018 and 2019, Comfort Ogunlade, founder, Behind Farmer Global Ltd., an agricultural investment company in Iwo, Osun State, asked people to invest in the planting, harvesting and selling of cucumber, with a promise of 70 percent profit in five months.

There was also the offer of buying plantain from southwestern Nigeria, and then selling it in Lagos and Kwara State. The plantain business investment was expected to fetch the investors a monthly 10 percent return on investment.

But let's be realistic for once if she pays 70% profit , how much is for her labour , risk and miscellaneous, sometimes failures of project is even shown from the planing but we don't value risk assessment

70% profit in 5 months? shocked Haba now! That's an interest rate of 168% per annum. Even banks that loan out won't collect such yet an investor wants such. Some people open their eyes widely and still enter into unrealistic investments. Is farming that lucrative that after incurring costs before, during and after planting, having some harvest losses maybe, and still facing the challenge of sales of the produce one can yet make more than 200% as profits and still be able to pay 168% to silent partners?
