The Strong Man of the Junta is trying to appease Western Power brokers by engaging them with a progressive, female Liberal kind of democratic posturing. Will it work? Obviously Yes. But within the African community it is impossible to see the AU accepting the result of a Western propelled overthrow of a democracy. France does not seem to care how her covert actions affect the stability of the sub region. She believes that since USA has shown considerable responsibility in Southern Africa with its meddling in Zimbabwe and lately Uganda, she also should wield its neo-colonial power. |
