SA's Most Dangerous Women | Meet The Women Who Allegedly Killed Families For Insurance Payout

Rosemary Ndlovu, the former police officer that allegedly killed her family members for insurance payouts has left many people traumatized, some are even doubting to tell their family members that they have a life cover.

While life covers are meant to take care of vulnerable family members should the member die, some people have signed up for their benefit. What is more shocking is that these kinds of stories are common but some did not make headlines.

Women are expected to love and care for their families, but two of South Africa's most dangerous women who were once respected in society have proven that women can kill too.

Nonhlanhla Maxolo Mbhele - Churchgoer

Mr.s Nonhlanhla Maxolo Mbhele, a 42-year-old woman from uMlazi shocked the nation last Spring when Ilanga Newspaper reported that she allegedly hired a hitman to murder her husband, brother-in-law, sister, niece, and a friend's child.

However, when she allegedly hired the same hitman to kill a friend from church, Mrs. Ntuli, he instead chose to phone her and tell her the truth. Mrs. Ntuli was first warned by a sangoma that her friend wanted her dead. She did not believe the sangoma, so he gave her muti which was going to reveal everything to her. A few months later, she received a call from the hitman.

When the police went to arrest the hitman, they found him severely injured after someone tried to finish him off, twice. Mrs. Mbhele remains in police custody.

Then there is Rosemary Ndlovu, a former police Constable who was allegedly on a killing spree to get insurance payouts. It has been reported that Ndlovu allegedly hired a hitman to finish off her family members. In 2012, she received R131 000 from her cousin's death, R717 000 in 2013 from her sister's death, R416 000 in 2015 following her boyfriend's death, and R120 000 in 2016 following her niece's passing.

In 2017 her nephew and her younger sister passed away, and in 2018 she allegedly hired a hitman to murder her mother, but the hitman couldn't carry out the task. Thereafter, she allegedly hired a hitman to kill her sister and her five children but she was busted in a sting operation.

Nonhlanhla and Mapum Mthunywa allegedly ordered a hit on their mother, 62-year old Wanter Dlamini. it is reported that Nonhlanhla invited her mother to visit her, but on her way, her mother was attacked by Nonhlanhla's boyfriend and another accomplice.

Furthermore, Nonhlanhla and her friend allegedly held down her mother when then two men had their way with her. Thereafter, they allegedly murdered her, wrapped her body in a blanket, and hid it in a toilet.

Nonhlanhla's sister, Mapum, allegedly organized transport to help her move the body to be thrown in the bushes. Two days before the horrific crime, Nonhlanhla allegedly tried to poison her mother but her plan failed hence she decided on another plan to end her life. All this horrific crime for R80 000 insurance payout.

If Life Policies would ensure that they do serious investigations when someone who has a life cover dies, it would help minimize this kind of killing. Once again, law enforcement is failing to conduct thorough investigations to determine who is set to gain from the death of the policyholder.
