Years ago the super eagles had many grade A defenders, playing for top clubs (and consistently) in europe back then, players like stephen keshi,uche okechukwu, uche okafor Ben Iroha, Austin Eguavoen, Chidi Nwanu(andelect) presently apart from Taiye Taiwo(A.C Milan) and the fast aging Joseph Yobo (Fenebarche) there is not much to pick from,
what is responsible and who are the upcoming ones that we can look forward to

no jokes here, seriously we need quality defenders for our team as that department lacks quality personnel.
so what I'm asking is who are the upcoming ones and where are they playing presently; also what is the cause of the lack in quality

just go through threads on the sports section and see lot of strikers and midfielders(both capped and uncapped for Nigeria) being celebrated or mentioned for one thing or the other.
Even if they are not scoring goals, i believe there are defenders who are doing well and need to be recognized or given a call up

seriously i am not comfortable with Yobo- Efe pairing at the centre of defence for the SE, and presently there are no guys pushing up on this two, adeleye has not been given a look in since Sia1 took over, Apam is just getting back to fitness, just who and where are the future SE defenders

Angelo Ogbonna: Plays in Italy, can't remember which club. From what I've heard, I think he is very good.
From the local league:
Chima Akass(3sc): Good defender, plays at left back.
Fade Adebayo(Bukola Babes): He has been a revelation this season. Plays at left back and centre back. Arguably, the best left back in the league. He is something like Dani Alves of Barcelona, a left back version. He's dead ball specialist and has scored couple of freekicks this season.

Yobo has been a disaster for Nigeria; constantly causing Nigeria to concede goals. Adeleye's name should be first on the sheet; Apam should partner him. If Yobo must play, move him to right-back. I remember the bozo (Yobo) on the floor in front of Enyeama as Greece scored last year at the WC.

Definitely i agree with you, the guy has been there all this while because nobody is pushing hard on his position, by now he should be a bit player, just in the team to give morale to the upcoming guys,
