You're right. This could be a significant factor denying our beauty queens the global crowns. I think about Genevieve's movie that was denied an Oscar for not representing its original country well.

Also,we lack proper preparation in any international competition. In serious countries, queens are crowned about 9 months to the pageant for intense rehearsals in cartwalk, interviews, confidence and so many things. Their teams have started preparing their gowns months before the pageant. Look at philippines. About 100 fashion designers prepared gowns for her stay during the pageant. In all the gowns, the culture of the philippines where well represented. You need to see how they use pageant to promote their country. But here in Nigeria, somebody will be asking for the importance of pageanry to Nigeria
