This generation shall not pass.... Mathew 24:34
Matthew 24:32 Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh:
33 So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors.
Matthew 24:34 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.
What exactly did the Jesus mean in the above statement of verse 34 ? Is this another controversial statement credited to Him? How many generations have passed since more than 2000 years ago when the statement was made?
A dictionary meaning of "generation" can be: age, age group, peer group, cohort, stage of life
To understand this statement in the Matthew 24:34 let us focus on "generation" as "age" or "stage of life".
Human civilization according to historians, has passed through ages or stages. Prominent among these are: stone age, agrarian age, industrial revolution age, information age and now Artificial Intelligence age.
Stone age is characterized by man in culture of making use of stone as weapon and equipment.
Agrarian age is marked by men using simple machine as farm implement and weapon. It's man's major preoccupation was agriculture. This was the stage at time of Jesus Christ.
Industrial age is defined industrial revolution, when man started using energy driven complex machines for agriculture and production.
Information age came with man started using extremely fast machines.
Now artificial intelligence age means man started using intelligent or smart machines.
So back to the statement of Mathew 24:34 we need to understand that up till today all the features of all past ages are still present in the world today despite the stage of civilization as at now
We still have stone, agrarian, Industrial ages culture among some people in many regions of the world that are regarded as modern civilization till now.
High level of illetracy, farmine, food scarcity, malnutrition, poverty, pandemic and disaster which were all attendant features of past ages are still with us till today.
So in effect what the Holy Spirit want us to know in the statement is that, the iminience of the end of the world shall be so soon that many parts of the world would still exhibit characteristics of agrarian age which was when Jesus was making that statement in Matthew 24:34 .
May we be found worthy to meet Him when He returns.

When has the world not exhibited this "agrarian" age you speak of? undecided

Why tag the Holy Spirit on this when He is not mentioned at all in the verse you conveniently picked here? undecided

And this ideas you have of Jesus Christ speaking of a generation in terms of an "age" where does it come from? undecided

See lies. These Christians have realised the failure of their own prophecies and are trying to change the interpretation.
Face it, your religion is built on lies and failures.

Revelation 2:7
He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.

Revelation 3:22
He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.

Jesus spoke about the Pisces generation or Age.

There are 12 cosmic Ages. Each age is 2160 years. Our Universe revolves round a great cycle only known to the adept.

The next Age after this Pisces Age / Generation is the Aquarius Age, the age of peace and prosperity for the righteous on earth.

Before we get to that Age, Jesus said His prophecies about the Apocalypse must come to pass in this Pisces age.

The Judgment day is the last earth year or the 2160th year of the Pisces age. That year would be so special because it would be the year the great transition would take place.

Only the righteous would survive it.

What mindfuckery is this? undecided

What Jesus Christ clearly said is that the generation in which His disciples were themselves a part of, the generation that He left behind, would not pass until all He said had happened. The EndTime spoken of by Jesus Christ in Matthew 24, Luke 21, and Mark 13, is of events that are in the past — the time of God's final judgment against the Nation of Israel(and Judah) in the land of Canaan.
29 “Right after the trouble of those days, this will happen:‘The sun will become dark, and the moon will not give light. The stars will fall from the sky, and everything in the sky will be changed.’[c]
30 “Then there will be something in the sky that shows the Son of Man is coming. All the people of the world will cry. Everyone will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds in the sky. He will come with power and great glory.
31 He will use a loud trumpet to send his angels all aroun
32 “The fig tree teaches us a lesson: When its branches become green and soft, and new leaves begin to grow, then you know that summer is very near.
33 In the same way, when you see ALL these things happening, you will know that the time[d] is very near, already present.
34 I assure you that ALL these things will happen while some of the people of this time are still living.
35 The whole world, earth and sky, will be destroyed, but my words will last forever. - Matthew 24 vs 32 - 35
As He made clear, it was all to take place while some among His disciples were still living. That was about 1900 years ago. undecided

The You in the context where after all Jesus Christ's very own disciples had asked him two questions regarding the time of the end which was prophesied to come by the Prophets. These questions are observed at the beginning of the context(chapter in this case of Matthew 24) which Jesus Christ then proceeded to provide a detailed response to (which included the entry in Matthew 24 verse 34).
1 Jesus left the Temple area and was walking away. But his followers came to him to show him the Temple’s buildings.
2 He asked them, “Are you looking at these buildings? The fact is, they will be destroyed. Every stone will be thrown down to the ground. Not one stone will be left on another.”
3 Later, Jesus was sitting at a place on the Mount of Olives. The followers came to be alone with him. They said, (Question#1) “Tell us when these things will happen.(Question#2) And what will happen to prepare us for your coming and the end of time?” - Matthew 24 vs 1 - 3
...
1 Jesus was leaving the Temple area. One of his followers said to him, “Teacher, look how big those stones are! What beautiful buildings!”
2 Jesus said, “Do you see these great buildings? They will all be destroyed. Every stone will be thrown down to the ground. Not one stone will be left on another.”
3 Later, Jesus was sitting at a place on the Mount of Olives. He was alone with Peter, James, John, and Andrew. They could all see the Temple, and they said to Jesus,
4 (Question #1) “Tell us when these things will happen. (Question #2) And what will show us it is time for them to happen?” - Mark 13 vs 1 - 4
