Hi Nlanders, I will be getting married in few months time the problem is that I am a catholic igbo man, my fiance also an igbo girl but attends one of the popular gospel churches and my father is knight in the catholic.

The problem is that my dad want us to do the wedding in catholic church while my in-laws tobe are insisting on going to gospel church but if I refuse to be married in catholic church I will be stopped from taking communion and I love this girl what should I do pls advice me.

haba why una in-laws wan sabotage una marriage now? this is really unfair. after all its you and your fiancee who are getting married not anyone else. they should remember times have moved on, this is no longer the 60s/70s.

If y'all don't find a common ground till D-date maybe you should go for court wedding 1st in order not to postpone (cancel? ) over this issue which seems a big deal for both parties!

It's between you and your wife to be. You guys have the final say and should decide. Every other person should respect your decision.

The girl n her family r Igbo yet they are trying 2 stand tradition on its head. Does d woman marry d man or does the man marry d woman? Abeg, grow some balls n stand 4 what is right. When dey agreed 2 d wedding, didn't they realise d man is Catholic? If they insist 2 much tell dem make dem carry dir daughter go (after u av gotten her pregnant) lol.
