Facebook ,Instagram and WhatsApp have been shut down by hackers which resulted in hijacking of Facebook company's domain name.




Numerous users across the globe reported inability to access their account on the social media platforms since Monday afternoon after an unknown hacker nuked the DNS A; an address file that contains the IP address of the domain name and AAA records of Facebook, Instagram and Whatsapp respectively.





Facebook had earlier tweeted about Whatsapp,



“We’re aware that some people are experiencing issues with WhatsApp at the moment. We’re working to get things back to normal and will send an update here as soon as possible.”



Its has been reported that the the main domain of Facebook Inc, Facebook.com, is now available for sale in the dark Web.



Following the global outage of the mega social media platforms, WhatsApp has released a statement promising, it is currently working to get back online as soon as it could.



This is not the first time this year social networking apps have suffered an outage.



It will be recalled that few months back spacifically on April and June this year, the mega social networking sites all went down as a result of “network configuration challenges”, an issue that affected users across the globe.



Users were unable to chat and communicate during those periods.
