A senior lecturer in the department of English and Literature, University of Benin(UNIBEN) named Dr. Bode Ekundayo has been accused of raping a final year student of the department, Siggy reports.

It was alleged that the middle aged lecturer locked up the student in his office when she visited to register for her final year project on October 5, 2021, and had carnal knowledge of her without her consent. The victim also claimed he locked her up and refused her leaving the office for hours.

The alleged victim, a 400 level student, is said to have sent messages to a friend who then reported to security guards in the school and they went to rescue the student.

A video posted by shows him being questioned by school staff in front of the health centre where the victim was been admitted for treatment.

The SUG P.R.O who spoke for the Student Union Government when contacted said the union are aware of the incident and they are taking prompt actions on it.

A source also revealed to that plans are been made to lay the matter low as the Lecturer is a "senior man" in the department.

At this age and time Nigerian Lecturers are running amok with libidinal passions.

Instead of preferring solutions to the multitude of problems facing the country and academia.

It's idiots like this one that will prefer to go on strike for 10 years, instead of using his brain to proffer solutions to the poor salary he takes from the FG.

I'm not justfying rape in any way but do you know how many men have suffered for false rape accusations.... Infact I can confidently tell you that about 65% of rape accusations are false one in one way or another.

The guy is actually saying that there's also a possibility that the girl in question might be accusing him falsely although I know how Randy most naija lecturers are.

N.b. calling him a rapist is uncalled for, that is a breach of one of nairaland's rules.
