What happened to the common Muslim saying that there is no compulsion in Islam?

If the social media posts of the party had not been made, the Imam and parents would not have known their wards went to any birthday. They should first address the extent their moral teachings have failed to impact the children first and foremost instead of trying to scar and maim them. That brutish approach does not stop the children for doing immoral things particularly when they become independent or out of reach of the parents and the Imam.

The failure of moral teachings is not always addressed by brutal beating. In fact it becomes counter productive as the victims now see Islam as a brutal religion that is not genuinely after their welfare.
