This God's name Jehovah appear originally more than 7,000 times in the bible. It's so sad that Man (not God) has removed and substituted God's name with mere titles like LORD and God (in some bible translations).
Note: Title is different from a personal Name.
Buhari is not the same as President.

Most answers claim that the reason is because “Jehovah” is not the correct pronunciation of God’s name in Old Hebrew. But that does not explain why Yahweh —or whatever the correct pronunciation is supposed to be— is not in most bibles either.
So, I’d say that that is not the reason.

Another , some considered that God’s personal name was too sacred to be pronounced out of respect for Judaism superstitious belief , of whom Jesus said: “You have made the word of God invalid because of your tradition.”—Matt. 15:6
This is baseless as well.

it's impossible that we'll be in close relationship with a friend that we don't know his personal name. God is not nameless, his titles are not his name. He has a real personal name.

Ex. 3:15: “God said . . . to Moses: ‘This is what you are to say to the sons of Israel, “Jehovah the God of your forefathers . . . has sent me to you.” This is my name to time indefinite, and this is the memorial of me to generation after generation

Psalm 83:18(KJV)
That men may know that thou, whose name alone is JEHOVAH, art the most high over all the earth.

Conclusively, the central part of Jesus assignment on Earth is to make this God's name known.(Read John 7:26).
Is God's name as important to you as it is to Jesus?

Having a close relationship with God involve getting to know him by name

putting the name Jehovah, in it's rightful place in d bible, nullifies the false teaching of Trinity. Except for Psalm 83:18 which makes it impossible for the name to be removed, cos it directly/specifically states that he alone bears the name Jehovah. All or most places u see Lord in d bible, it's supposed to be Jehovah. This person is separate from Jesus and is referred to as Almighty God and greater than Jesus. Granted, he, just like Jesus, and even man, share some other names/titles, such as Lord, Father, eminence, Judge etc, but the Name Jehovah can't be shared.

Many people are not aware that God has a personal name because it has been replaced with title like LORD in many of these modern bible based on the biased discretion of those translators under the influence of their doctrine.
It's so misleading that when people encounter the word 'LORD' in their bible, they won't know it's referring to Jesus' father 'JEHOVAH' and they ignorantly attribute it to Jesus t

When you go this track of examining names as correct only when it's written in the very language, you may end up shooting yourself in the leg after all.

d issue is that if they hadn'tn't removed it from Bible, u will have to start asking questions about Trinity belief, since Jehovah refers to only one person, who would be clearly different from Jesus.imagine if u and your dad are engineers, professors, and your dad's name is Rex and yours is Michael, and somebody comes asking for the engineer, who lives in the house, how will they know who he's asking for? If they hadn't removed it, you will easily know that though, there are many gods and Lord's, to Christians, we have only one God, Jehovah, and one Lord, Jesus. They are different and seperate, just like both of us are physically different.. read Psalm 83 vs18, where d God himself make am totally impossible for the name, Jehovah to be removed from bible, where it says that "you alone whose name is Jehovah". It's in all Bible's. Apart from this verse, most, infact all other places u see "lord", it is supposed to be Jehovah. Remember that Bible also makes us know and understand that the title "Lord", father, reverence can rightfully be addressed to both God himself, Jesus and even man too

If God's name is not so much important, it won't appear more than 7,000 times in the Bible. It is the name that appears most.
Getting to know God means knowing him by his name. Infact our salvation rest on this.

Emphasis on soiling God's word. Here is the words of the only scholar known in the organization you belong below.....

1. “The Lord unquestionably arranged the omission of His name “Jehovah” from the New Testament, and has permitted the Christian churches throughout this era to overlook God’s outstanding name......

2.

It no doubt causes wonderment that God’s name, viz., JEHOVAH, does not occur in the New Testament, and neither Jesus nor His apostles are recorded as taking the name in their lips grin grin. In writing the New Testament in Greek, the writers of the gospels and epistles evidently followed the Greek Septuagint Version of the Old Testament, which also does not use the name Jehovah but uses the word “Kurios”, Lord, in translating the name Jehovah from the Hebrew text. “

So do you and your likes equally SOIL God's name by putting JEHOVAH in the new testament where this same JEHOVAH unquestionably arranged that his NAME be omitted? grin

YAHWEH is the true real name of Elohim(God) hence YAHWEH-ELOHIM -(LORD God).
Jehovah is a misconstrued term used by a Catholic priest.
All reliable original languages of scripture read YAHWEH in all honest translations.
Even the New King James Version doesn't have any Jehovah nomenclature by the least.
No Jewish scholar or Biblist ever uses Jehovah because by linguistics and all, YAHWEH is and will remain God's revealed name from Genesis!
Unfortunately, many who fight over Jehovah don't even have personal encounters with Jesus (real name: Yeshua!)
Our today's Joshua is same with Jehovah rather than the true names of Yeshua and YAHWEH!

Having a close relationship with the father that gave birth to you right here on earth does not require you to know him by name call him by name and put his name as labels, badge or placards he bears rather you will readily call him DADDY, BABA MI e.t.c and the bond you have with him grows based on all his activities, care, guidance e.t.c.

It is not the name the father who gave birth to you bears that made you draw close to him, reality tells me that you and many have strong bond with their father who gave birth to them long before they know him by his personal names. grin

This too applies to your father in heaven. The reason Jesus, Paul and others used "ABBA FATHER" to endear themselves with our father in heaven.

The Israelites knew that name and see them written seven thousand times for numerous decades and centuries they walk with the God who bear the name yet they hardly develop any relationship that was really lasting in any time period during those decades and centuries. The time of the judges and Kings will tell the full story about that.

In the final analysis that God rejected that nation despite they knowing that name. Oga Haddey cheesy cheesy e bo le nbe cool cool

Both Yahwe and Jehovah are not the true name of God according to the bible

His name was YHWH

How did Moses Pronounce the tetragamation YHWH and why do Jews themselves avoid pronouncing the name hence they rather use adonai.

Since Jesus didn't pronounce the name either how can we be sure that Jehovah or Yahwe is the true pronounciation of the name of God and not demons?

This God's name Jehovah appear originally more than 7,000 times in the bible.

Even your organization knows that YAHWEH is more accurate than Jehovah....

Besides, "more than 7,000 times in the Bible" why can't you explain that it's in the OT and not the entire Bible which include NT?

It's so sad that Man (not God) has removed and substituted God's name with mere titles like LORD and God (in some bible translations).

Yet as important as the name is, God still allowed man to do that to His precious name!

Which we can then ask, if God could allow His important name to be removed from Bible, how many of such important things man has removed without a trace?

Most answers claim that the reason is because “Jehovah” is not the correct pronunciation of God’s name in Old Hebrew. But that does not explain why Yahweh —or whatever the correct pronunciation is supposed to be— is not in most bibles either.
So, I’d say that that is not the reason.

The main point here, is that even your organization knows that YAHWEH is more accurate than Jehovah.

New Testament writers never used the name yet it was found in your translation NWT.

Jesus Himself never used the name.

So, who should have placed emphasis on the name more, Jesus who is God's incarnation or an illiterate person of Greek and Hebrew?

Another , some considered that God’s personal name was too sacred to be pronounced out of respect for Judaism superstitious belief , of whom Jesus said: “You have made the word of God invalid because of your tradition.”—Matt. 15:6
This is baseless as well.

Why do you people like lying just to propagate your organization?

This is actually the reason why the name was replaced with Adonai or Elohim which leads to its pronunciation lost.

So why putting the blame on the English or any other language translators?

it's impossible that we'll be in close relationship with a friend that we don't know his personal name. God is not nameless, his titles are not his name. He has a real personal name.

God was never introduced to us as friend but rather as Father.

But why did Jesus never addressed Him with the same personal name?

"He has been given a name which is above every name at the name of Jesus..."

It's Jesus' name that every characters in the NT hold on to, not YAHWEH.

Conclusively, the central part of Jesus assignment on Earth is to make this God's name known.(Read John 7:26).
Is God's name as important to you as it is to Jesus?

Yet Jesus Himself never used the name.

If the name so much important to Jesus, it's Jesus Himself that will used it most than anybody.

Having a close relationship with God involve getting to know him by name

Yet no NT characters used the name, does that mean they don't have close relationship with God?

You asked a sound question but you missed one point!
Jesus used Jehovah's name several times because he said:

I have manifested thy name unto the men which thou gavest me out of the world: thine they were, and thou gavest them me; and they have kept thy word. John 17:6

And I have declared unto them thy name, and will declare it: that the love wherewith thou hast loved me may be in them, and I in them. John 17:26

At Mark 12:29 this is what Jesus said:

And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The LORD our God is one LORD:

It was God's name Jesus mentioned there not the title "LORD" so what supposed to be there is:

Jesus answered: “The first is, ‘Hear, O Israel, JEHOVAH our God is one JEHOVAH

So Jesus used God's name several times but it's the superstitious tradition of the Jews that led to the loss of the original pronunciation of that name.

Now how do we know that the name JEHOVAH has been granted from above today?

God Himself promised that by the time people from all races come together to search for Him He will teach them by means of His Holy Spirit what they supposed to do and the sign we will see to be sure that we got things right is this:

In the final part of the days, The mountain of the house of Jehovah Will become firmly established above the top of the mountains, And it will be raised up above the hills, And to it all the nations will stream. And many peoples will go and say: “Come, let us go up to the mountain of Jehovah, To the house of the God of Jacob. He will instruct us about his ways, And we will walk in his paths.” For law will go out of Zion, And the word of Jehovah out of Jerusalem. He will render judgment among the nations And set matters straight respecting many peoples. They will beat their swords into plowshares And their spears into pruning shears. Nation will not lift up sword against nation, Nor will they learn war anymore! Isaiah 2:2-4; Micah 4:1-3

The first religious group that began using that name JEHOVAH are Jehovah's Witnesses and for some reasons best known to God Himself only this group has successfully unite their members to the point that they have stopped thinking of WARS globally, rather they're preaching and teaching people how to LOVE God and neighbours! Mark 12:30-31

So the evidence that God has accepted the name and is ready to save Jehovah's Witnesses is glaring because God's promise regarding the group of people who successfully gets things right is happening only among Jehovah's Witnesses today! Isaiah 43:10-12

May you have PEACE! smiley

The Bible foretold that many religions will spring forth and all of them will be claiming they are for the Almighty God but God's own people will be separated from all of them and call their own God in a totally separate way:

For all the peoples will walk, each in the name of its god, But we will walk in the name of Jehovah our God forever and ever! Micah 4:5

Today so many different religious groups are claiming they belong to the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, Muslims are even claiming they are worshiping the same God that Jesus worshiped. But how do we solve this riddle?

Well the true God promised that by the time He is about to destroy all unbelievers He will first separate His own worshipers and begin calling them by another name that's totally strange to everyone! Isaiah 65:15

In the year 1931 after the International Bible Students Association has been battling with the name people back then we're calling them "Russelites" JEHOVAH through His Holy Spirit suddenly change their name and began calling them "JEHOVAH'S WITNESSES" from that year.
Today billions living now never knew that there was a time Jehovah's Witnesses was struggling to find a suitable name for their group until the year 1931!

What is the evidence that JEHOVAH truly dwells in the midst of this people?

Well throughout the world today there's no religion teaching their members to settle disputes amicably among themselves only Jehovah's Witnesses know that it's insanity for people to start taking sides when two persons have issues! All the religions on this planet have failed woefully in this regard to the point that when issues arises instead of settling matters even between people claiming worshipers of the same God, RACISM and POLITICS will not allow them reason, and the next thing they'll start doing is picking up weapons in support of either side then killing people whom they claim are their fellow worshipers! Revelations 6:3-4

Only Jehovah's Witnesses have this sense of settling matters without taking sides, because of the LOVE for God and neighbours!

So if the Bible say "God is LOVE" {1John 4:8} but it's only within just one single group that this attribute is manifesting, who can prove that this group is not the one and only group having God in their midst? smiley

God bless you and may you all have PEACE! smiley

Bad thinking!

No one said God's Name is not important. We are saying that we know Whom it is Referred when we Say God, The Lord, Jehovah, Abasi, Chineke etc

Lord, God, Oluwa, Olodumare, Chinese, Almighty and millions of them are titles. They're not names. You don't get it?
A man can be called Engineer, Father, Helper, Teacher but that doesn't mean those should replaced his own personal name like Shola.

Did Jesus or Apostle Paul called God by the name Jehovah

Good question.
Absolutely! They called him by his name.
Firstly, Jesus name Jehovah is Salvation cheesy

Jesus read and quoted them the ancient scrolls. He quoted them exactly how they are. To change even one word would have put his credibility in question and he's against the superstitious belief of the pharisees.

Here are some examples of Jesus quoting the Old Testament that included YHWH's name:

Quoting Deuteronomy 8:3 Jesus says:

It is written: ‘Man must live, not on bread alone, but on every word that comes from Jehovah’s mouth.’” (Mt 4:4)

Quoting Deuteronomy 6:16 Jesus said:

Again it is written: ‘You must not put Jehovah your God to the test.’ (Mt 4:7)

Quoting Deuteronomy 6:13 Jesus said:

Then Jesus said to him: “Go away, Satan! For it is written: ‘It is Jehovah your God you must worship, and it is to him alone you must render sacred service.’” (Mt 4:10)

Quoting Psalm 110:1 Jesus said:

Jehovah said to my Lord: “Sit at my right hand until I put your enemies beneath your feet”’? (Mt 22:44)

Quoting Isaiah 61:1, 2 Jesus said:

Jehovah’s spirit is upon me, because he anointed me to declare good news to the poor. He sent me to proclaim liberty to the captives and a recovery of sight to the blind, to send the crushed ones away free, (Lu 4:18)

Quoting Joel 2:32 both the Apostle Peter and Apostle Paul said:

everyone who calls on the name of Jehovah [YHWH] will be saved. (Acts 2:21; Ro 10:13)

How can you make something known unless you tell others what it is. Jesus would have had to use the name to make it known to others. And like an ambassador representing a kingdom, like an envoy or emissary who would proclaim to all who he represented…

In addition to this, the one and only true God always refer to Himself as the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob:

Then God said once more to Moses: “This is what you are to say to the Israelites, ‘Jehovah the God of your forefathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you.’ This is my name forever, and this is how I am to be remembered from generation to generation. Now go, and gather the elders of Israel and say to them, ‘JEHOVAH the God of your forefathers has appeared to me, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and he said: “I have certainly taken notice of you and of what is being done to you in Egypt. Exodus 3:15-16

Now any right thinking person would ask "Is that not the God who created everyone of us? Then why is He calling Himself by the name of those three individuals?" undecided

Well the answer is simple, do you want this God to take you serious as someone who truly loves Him? Then you must relate with Him the way Abraham, Isaac and Jacob did. Call Him by the name these people do call Him!

Listen to what His only begotten Son said about Him:

In reply Jesus said to them: “You are mistaken, because you know neither the Scriptures nor the power of God; for in the resurrection neither do men marry nor are women given in marriage, but they are as angels in heaven. Regarding the resurrection of the dead, have you not read what was spoken to you by God, who said: ‘I am the God of Abraham and the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob’? He is the God, not of the dead, but of the living. Matthew 22:29-32

Even Jesus who has lived for uncountable years in heaven with Him did not relate with Him without mentioning what this God said about Himself!

So if anyone today truly wants to relate with this God then they must remember that He is the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob therefore call Him in the name those people do call Him and see if He will not respond:

And everyone who calls on the name of Jehovah will be saved; For on Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there will be those who escape, just as Jehovah has said, The survivors whom Jehovah calls.” Joel 2:32 smiley

Hundredfold4lif:

That still begs the question? Why does the YAHWEH not appear in your Bible the number of times it was written?

Yahweh is a transliterated form of God's name
Jehovah is the translated form of it.
Linguistically, a translated word doesn't has to retain the same letters it was translated from?
Let me give you an example in Yoruba if you understand it.
Glass
Transliterated form - Gilàasí
Translated- igo

Also, God's Son name
Transliterated form is Yeshua
Translated form is Jesus

Do you understand?
