SlyDev:Lolz, every country in the world imports. Same with Nigeria. Who tells you Nigeria does not export? We export oil, natural gas and solid minerals. Who says we do not manufacture or export? Go into any large supermarket eg justrite, you will notice atleast 70% of product sold there are made in Nigeria. Is it soap, sanitory pads, tin tomatoes, detargent, insecticide, ice cream, confectionary, noodles, flour etc you name it. Go around Africa an you see our products, do you know containers of guiness, Nbl product leave this country for the US and Europe, Asia daily, indomie nko, my paddy in Maryland u.s.a ships all, up to garri, ground nut, drid fish in containers! Dont let anybody deceive you. The problem is mismanagement. All these so called palative money that was shared, today you hear 100b, tommorw 500b, where do you think it came from? This is a gov that claims no money ohh. Where do you think the 5k they want to give 40m Nigerian monthly will come from? PRINTERS! Have you heard the leaked audio tape of amechi? Ask YouTube. He spoke of how they printed money! Naira will be printed by cbn to give you 5k, it is even easier with enaira. When you print money and share it causes inflation and the dilution of the naira. $goes up. ₦goes down. 4 Likes |

justosee: Another nice point. In UK people get paid the minimum of about £9 per hour which equates to about N7000. But in naija you get 30k minim wage so if you divide this by 30 days you get N1k A day and if you further divide 1k by 24hours you will get 24kobo per hour 6 Likes |

SlyDev: You and all those clowns who liked your post are kinda dense sha. How much was Pounds Sterling to Naira during OBJ's and Yar'Adua's era? Did they close the borders like your mumu president? OBJ was particularly interested in promoting an agro-economy and many giant strides and foundations were achieved then which improved investor's confidence. Despite, he didn't take draconian policies like your NEPA certificated bag of bones in Aso Villa. So how come forex had an appreaciable strength during these periods when borders weren't closed compare to now when it has in the past years. Have you looked around your environment of late? Does this look investor friendly to you? I lost count on how many companies have had to shutdown, adjust their business models or battling with stupid APC led government policies. From Opay, to GoOkada, to Twitter, to tech companies, to crypto firms etc. You president, his economic team and minions constituting nuisance on the social media space with propaganda are just foolish. 4 Likes 1 Share |

SlyDev: I feel offended by your comment and it's not because I am from that tribe you're talking about but I feel you need to understand what it takes to produce before you come out in a forum as this to spew trash. Do you know the average cost of producing a plastic bag in the present day Nigeria? How cheap is electricity if at all we have it and how cheap is the alternative? Do you know how much it cost to move raw materials from your village to Ogun state or other factory locations across the country? How many producing countries of the world do you see that have touts on highways with legal backing to extort commuters of their hard earned money? Again, have you attempted to produce anything at scale before and do you have report of companies that have wind up within their first 2 years in Nigeria and what is your lord Buhari doing about it? |

nedekid:Oga please get your facts right.. despite the fact that you made very good points you have to ask yourself "what is the volume of export you are talking about? Apart from oil? You made mention of your guy exporting garri, that is commendable but to how many people? And probably still to only Nigerians or Ghanaians. Base on that apart from oil we export nothing! 1 Like |

Manufacturing is key towards having a stable and strong currency. But given that the manufacturing sector has been in a state of comatose for long, it is important to emphasize that in prioritizing manufacturing, government must be ready to support manufacturers with loans and waivers etc. Already, there is revolutionary change in rice production, but unfortunately, not enough to meet local consumption. So, outright embargo on rice is what has made the price skyrocket to 30k from 8k. Taking a look at this, you will agree that outright ban on rice importation is not the solution. What government should perhaps have done is reduce rice importation by a certain percentage, scale up local production and put in place timelines by which rice import will be completely banned and local produce will be so scaled up to meet local demands. Outright ban is the reason why we are all suffering. Rice has now become a luxury which can only be afforded by a few. So, stopping importation for a country that has been dependent on it all her life, is not completely a people-centered policy. This is an issue that needs patience, sustained government intervention and a strategic plan. 3 Likes |

Since the queen still runs Nigeria, you're dreaming if you think the naira rate is ever going to improve. Its used to be 2 pounds to 1 naira Instead of improved naira rate , you got boko haram, and Efcc and herds men. Just to give you an idea what the the future holds under colonial rule. The only reason they pretended to give Nigeria independence was so that they won't be blamed for the planned destruction of Nigeria and black africa as a whole. At present under the current colonial rule of black Africa, the only country that is not in civil war or suffering terrorists attacks is white south africa. So that the least of your problems under current colonial suffer of black Africa is the naira to pound rate . youll be lucky to stay alive. Cause our colonial masters say we are too many, they say we bare too many children, and they have found a solution to the problem that you represent. 3 Likes |
