Please I’m having a serious issue in making a choice here. There’s this “Federal” Micro Finance Bank that I submitted an Application to 2months ago and got an invitation for interview which is scheduled for tomorrow.

Comparing the Two

Current Job
1. 7-7pm.
2. Nothing like Career here not to talk of growth.
3. No time for self development.
4. Conducive co-workers
5. Friendly Boss
6. Salary 45k

Bank Job
1. Salary 40k
2. 8-4pm
3. 80% of the workers are above 35yrs
4. Time for self development.
5. I don’t know the Executives yet.

My main reason for posting here is that I want to learn programming but my current Job won’t give me the time.
The bank Salary and timing is just perfect for me but am just afraid incase thing’s doesn’t go as planned.

You know what you want and from my observation you made your choice already by going for the bank job since it meets your expectation. Na job wey go give little freedom to develop ourselves we dey find oo

I don't know for Micro finance banks but bro, better don't believe that just cos banks close by 4pm also means their workers close by same 4pm.

You didn't mention what your current job is, but if I were you I would remain with it.

The "friendly Boss" and "conducive co-workers" is enough reason.

Anything "Micro"....run away from it. It has no future or career development

@ kennethfranc you don't want to develop yourself, else you will make out time from no time.

1 hour every day is all you need to sacrifice and you will be able to code since that is your desire. Consistency is key.

I would prefer a BJ.... BJ is life....

Federal Microfinance salary 40k? Anyways I think you should take the bank job, at least you get to grow a career and have extra time to learn to program

Banks doesn't have closing time. Everytime we hear bank closes by 4pm. But most of the times, by 4pm you will still see a long queue of customer waiting to be attended to. And courtesy demands that you attend to them instead of chasing them out because it's already closing time


Imagine attending to that long queue from 4pm to 6pm, before you round off everything and start going home, it'd have clocked 7-8pm

And also imagine if you live a city disturbed by gridlock

job security is key

Risk is part of life.
Just calculate it.

There is no such thing as Federal Microfinance bank.

Only two mfbs are linked to fgn in Nigeria,and they don't pay less than 150k at entry.

The Mfbs are NPf and BOI mfbs.
