othermen: Thank you for the breakdown. Like I've stated countless times, no country can compete with the US in teritary institutional research. This book explains it: https://www.amazon.com/Markets-Minds-Money-University-Research/dp/0674244230 For Nigeria to excel in research output, the country has to be rich as there's a limit to what the private sector can fund. Then again, it takes a rich and vibrant private sector to fund R & D effortlessly. The country needs GDP growth of minimum 10% for ten consecutive years for a noticeable change to occur. That said, kudos to Covenant University, compared to private universities that started during the same period or even earlier (Madonna University), she has performed tremendously well. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Reading Nigerian university research paper is like reading Rhapsody of Reality from pastor Christ. It is all full of bull's crap. Because their rubbish papers get thrown away when they send it to international research journals, Nigeria lecturers have set up their own, where every manner of nonsense is accepted as a research work, even when they have no rigour, methodology nor adhere to the principle of verifiability and replicability. The same reason we have greatest number of books written by charlatans (mostly pastors) in the world, 99% of them worthless than tissue paper. 3 Likes |

36STATES:You're a blockhead that just likes to comment about something you know nothing about. In a thread where a top-rated University like Stanford listed many Nigerians as top 2% of researchers in the world, yet you're making such ignorant comment about Nigerian lecturers research not accepted by International Journals. You think Stanford will list these people here if their research is not groundbreaking and published in International Journals of repute? |
