Anambra police detain nursing mother , collects N20,000 for bail

The DPO of a Police Division in Anambra State has allegedly detained a nursing mother in police cell for one night over inability to pay N20k bail money.

The nursing mother it was gathered had a misunderstanding with her neighbour who reported her to the police.

The nursing mother who reported to the police was detained overnight without her breastfeeding baby.

A source who preferred anonymity told our correspondent that, " She ( the nursing mother) just paid the 20k a while ago to avoid a second night detention, and has just been released a while ago.

The source added,"I do not thing this is the kind of image police in Anambra should be getting with CP, @⁨Echeng Echeng⁩ 's effort to boost her image.

Reacting, the Command's PPRO said,"Please the Command frowns at such act and I have also inform the DPO

The CP has further directed the X Squad and CP monitoring unit of the command to investigate and arrest the alleged officer."
