The police in Taraba State, on Wednesday, paraded one Umaru Ali for possessing six human skulls, a single barrel gun and a native pot.

The Commissioner of Police in the state, Chutua Onu, told journalists in Jalingo that the suspect was arrested by a police team led by Ben Sunday, a corporal.

Onu added that one Umaru Hamadu, an accomplice of Ali, on sighting the police, fired a shot at them but was later arrested after sustaining injuries from the exchange of fire. She said that Hamadu later died while receiving treatment and that Ali would soon be charged to court.

In a similar incident, another suspect, Aondowase Thomas, 22, of Baka Village in Bali Local Government Area, was also paraded with a human skull and a human tongue.

Thomas told journalists that he inherited the skull and tongue from his late brother who died in 2005. He said that his brother, before his death, told him that he got the parts from the Tiv/Jukum crisis of 2001.

The police boss said all the suspects would be charged to court soon.
