The incident about USA wildlife on the front Page got me by the balls, to be honest, this has been bothering me for some Months, this kind of news literally graced the front page every month of 2021



Why are houses in the Western World especially USA built with Wood, is it that these people don't know they can be easily maimed, attacked or robbed at night or their house easily gutted by fire like we see these days?



Is it written in their constitution or Building plan to use such low budget equipment for building houses that can be easily destroyed?

Nigerians in Diaspora, what's your take on this?

Google.com has tons of articles on this na. It’s cheaper and wood is readily available than concrete there , it serves as insulation in winter, its easily reconstructed or maintained. Most houses in nigeria have to be demolished after like 60 years, meanwhile houses in uk built with bricks and wood since 1880 are still there with the wood easily replaced. Meanwhile that brick and wood house below was originally built in 1887. I lived on the street in 2007 and was surprised myself.

Until you've lived in these very cold climes you will never understand it.Wood makes it much better to heat the home when winter comes around coz stone ,concrete or blocks keep cold retention very high.And you say "low budget material" not realizing this fact has made USA have very high home ownership rates?

1. It's cheap.
2. Oyinbos are racist. This means quickly and inexpensively building housing in the middle of nowhere. It also means supporting legislation that protects sprawl, and encourages more of this building.
3. American oyinbos are stúpid. They think these homes are a massive achievement. They never think about the fact that they pay all that money for wood and plastic.
4. You can build these things for like $30,000 and sell for $300,000 (or much more).
5. Safe, affordable neighborhoods with good schools are often full of these homes. Families struggling in cities feel pressured to buy them.

wood can’t work here. Termites and the rain go destroy am easily. The heat also is bad for wood unlike concrete which makes the house cooler. We dont build our houses well in Nigeria so last last he go collapse especially the storey buildings

Here they builders will ask for 20% higher price if you want your new house wrapped in bricks (of course the whole inside is 100% wooden frame-built)
The reason US wooden homes last so long is bcuz they have plenty companies doing termite treatment its big business.Now in hotter places like Nevada,Arizona and California they do build concrete houses.

They actually take issue with simply living next door to someone who looks different from them. Not even people who they've had bad experiences with or who have a justifiable reputation. They literally take issue with someone different existing beside them. They have méntál problems, bro. And that drives them to build these shacks in the middle of nowhere. lol

They're also donkeys that think their cheap suburban house is a major accomplishment. They don't understand (or care) how little value those things actually have (glorified sheds with a shower and toilet). It's one thing if someone gets one because they basically have no choice. It's another when they give them value they don't have. It's like Bítc0in. lol There's also nothing wrong with taking pride in something you work hard for, but that's not what they're doing.

Many of those homes lasted due to building standards, regulation, maintenance, and lots and lots of money.
