Most of the problems these guys do have is lack of capacity to handle overflow.
Some of them starts out genuinely but still lacks adequate preparation once there's a surge in patronage accountability starts falling apart. Devious staff will equally exploit this loophole. Eventually when the realizes he's in a big mess the only instinct fetchable is run.....

DelTel:
The accused is also the promoter of Investment and Allied Insurance ; the company shares scam is also outstanding against him as he reportedly moved most of the shares proceeds to other ventures hence investors have not been able to recoup their investment since
He was also Erastus Akingbola's partner in crime in the days of Intercontinental Bank. I think he managed to wriggle out of that one.

Hmmm EFCC should tread carefully when handling cases involving real estate development companies, savings and homes resorts etc cause they do get a lot of investments from investors they may not be able to ascertain their source of wealth.
I don't know the yardstick they used in proclaiming this man a money launderer, but most times it's difficult to ascertain and awkward to ask an investor how they made the money they want to invest. Let's even face reality, it's anti business to do so, I don't know the number of banks that ask their customers how they made the money they are depositing (investing) in their banks. In the case of the real estate development companies, savings and home trust, their funds are invested in Nigeria, leading to provision of houses and other infrastructure and creation of jobs, EFCC should rather modify their tactics to go after the owners of the funds (who may have obtained them by stealing or any other dubious means) prosecute them, get judgement against them and possibly get other interests to run or administer those property, thereby retaining wall he already created jobs and provided houses and infrastructure

This is also true.... unfortunately.
And some are victims of tangential fraud.... committed by associates, vendors and even government institutions that prey on their success and momentum.
I've heard of seemingly successful enterprises virtually ruined by the powers that be and so are unable to fulfill their obligations to investors.

If we do not strengthen our criminal justice system and bring every Nigerian, no matter the status under the ambit of the law, this country will remain a dangerous place to invest in and poverty will remain with us for a long time.

The fear of the law is one big factor that makes things work elsewhere.
Look at the Arnold Schwarzenegger automobile accident.

If it happened in Nigeria the ex-governor will simply hail a cab and leave the scene with his PA doing the calls and never to be questioned not to talk about investigated for a possible misdemeanor.
