Nothing like freedom. I've once been locked up in my hotel for 3 days waiting for a connecting flight home in a foreign highly developed country. Average hotel but top notch. Those 3 days seemed like 3 years to me. Talk more of prison. Tufia!

Most prisoners serving less than 5 years sentences in Denmark are sentenced to open prison. They wear their own clothes, cook their own food and have the possibility of escape.

These prisoners are treated like normal people rather than inmates and it has helped the country to reduce crime rate. If you doubt me, make your own research.

Actually, US prisoners' have less rights than you do...especially as regards internet use.

Internet use in American prisons' is severely restricted...especially access to twitter. (Some are allowed to use twitter, but their comments are severely policed).

US prisioners have their communications with the outside world monitored well well, including letters and parcels searched.

Nigeria? Yes, we had a twitter ban, not a facebook, whatsapp, telegram (more secure than even twitter), nairaland, etc ban. Even twitter, most of us just used vpn to bypass the ban. You could express your opinion freely via any other social media apart from twitter during the ban (and via vpn )

Things are not perfect in Nigeria, but not as bad as you think.

with free food, if you try this kind of prison in Nigeria, 70% of nigerians will enter the prison tomorrow. Just visit NYSC camp in Nigeria, you will understand what I'm saying.

Nice... This same picture has been in circulation for long and people have been tagging different Nordic countries to it (mostly Denmark and Sweden). But it appears to really be in Denmark.

Y'all should not make this about Nigeria though. The Danish model of treating criminals (including very short sentences like 3 months, 6 months and a year sentences for crimes that could get you years elsewhere) is quite unique. This particular prison is famed for its exquisite design. Even other prisons in the country aren't exactly like this. I heard they now take prisoners to the Netherlands for want of space.

That said, this beautiful, buy a prison is still a prison.
