Vladmir Invaded Georgia in 2008 or so, Nothing happened. He annexed Crimea, nothing happened. He would have invaded Ukraine and nothing will happen. US will not risk an all out war because of Ukraine. You think Russia gathered 200k troops just for fun They may not be an economic power like the US, but they possess the deadliest nukes (in terms of number and damage capability).
US cannot risk an all out nuclear war because of UKRAINE, otherwise they would have gone to war when Russia took Crimea.
They have struck a deal and that is it. Russia is not interested in war, they just want to achieve a purpose of not allowing Ukraine enter NATO.

But russian soldiers have also been sleeping in the snow for the same period of time. so what is funny really?

Besides, you can easily argue that the period of preparation was useful training for the Ukrainians. Of course, people like me always knew Russia was merely playing games, and so did everyone else, but make no mistake - this was a test of the western powers willingness to act.

now that Putin knows they won't sit idly by, the test is over.

I laugh at ignorant statement here, this is bad on Putin's image.
