How many codes will be refactored?
How many legacy features will be marked obsolete?
How many standard methods will earn themselves the @deprecated annotation?
What performance boost will it bring?
How many existing algorithms will be re-implemented?

The hopes are high and the expectation is crazy for the highly anticipated Java 7.

The swing package has improved, strings in switch statements, a few deprecated classes, JDBC4.1, improvement in concurrency, updated xml stack and some others. Just listed the few i know but Java 7 is not the main toolkit we should expect, its JDK7 with new collections, algorithms, packages and a lot of stuff, 7 is just a cover to close up d space between 6 and 8.

Oracle/Java REALLY need to work on their mobile platform.

Well yeah but i think they know what they are doing. android and iOS are ruling right now. They are probably trying to find a gap which i think is a good idea.

You should always expect such especially in an evolving technology. The only thing that is permanent is CHANGE.

yope yope, To be hones I kinda want java to mere their mobile platform with android/google or RIM. Better having 2 good platforms than having 100 and only 1 is good, lol

Naaa dat comes in 8 but you might gain from the new invokedynamic feature
